01 mercury sable traction control & low coolant lights stay on.

My low coolant light stays on even though the coolant is not low. Also, I just had my wheels rotated and now my traction control light comes on when I go through gradual curves.

Check for something stuck in the wheels and as for the coolant light get the car running and up to warm temp and start adding coolant to the reserviour bottle until it is up to hot level because there maybe a bubble in the line but also if might be a bad switch in the reservior bottle itself

Then you did not fix the problem. Codes are not cut and dry, it can be the part the wiring to it or in rare cases a defective Powertrain control module (PCM)

Low coolant light

When that happens it is usually because the coolant level membrane sensor is faulty.

Repair is not expensive, but must be done by a qualified mechanic.

Your transmission torque converter lock up clutch is not unlocking, that kills the engine and is the cause of the OD light flashing.

I.P Brake light is staying on.. what does this mean

Hi,

Offhand, the brake light warning on most dashboards would indicate that the hand/emergency brake is engaged. If even when the hand/emergency brake is disengaged or is in normal position and the light is still lit, it could indicate that:
  • the brake fluid in the reservoir is below minimum level;
  • and possibly the brake shoes/pads need replacement.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
