Hmm. you have automatic daytime lights? really people need to look into this issue. there are 2 power sources. 1 is always hot. which will be the battery lead the other will be power lead to ignition or automatic daytime running light. if your in your car turn on the ignition and shut it off. radio should still be on until either A. the door opens on drivers side or daytime lights shut off.

SOURCE: My 2005 chevy malibus check

its your alternator voltage regular failed and your alternator is isnt being limited to 12 vots and its overpowering your electric system. the smell of rotten eggs is your battery over heating and the acid inside is boiling giving off the sulfur based smell. this is unhealthy for you to breath and is a sure sign that your car needs to be repaired. you need to replace your alterantor and battery immeditly or it coud damage your vehicals computer. The new altenator will have a new regulator in it and you will be good.

My radio on my 2005 Chevy silverado wont turn off when i turn my car open and open the door and its making my truck die, changed the ignition switch this did not help. Any other suggestions?

its making my truck die - What does that mean? Is the truck's engine shutting down while it is running, or is the battery being drained such that the engine will not start?
Is the radio ON even when the ignition switch is turned off? Your radio power wire may be connected to a point that is always on instead of to a point that is controlled by the ignition switch.

The newer Pontiacs (& Chevy Malibus) have a sealed transmission, which means that there is no dipstick for the transmission. Consult your owner manual.

2005 chevy colorado cd problem

Try resetting the radio, turn the radio off and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Make sure the RADIO IS OFF OR YOUR GOING TO BE ASKED TO ENTER THE RADIO CODE TO HAVE THE RADIO ACTIVE AGAIN. After the battery has be reconnected, turn on the radio and reset your clock and stations. Your CD plays should be working again too. Good luck and hope this helps.
