Question about 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
I got stuck in edge of ditch while making a u turn. When I cut my wheels all the way to the left and had someone help push me out (after several minute of spinning tires on the edge of the road shoulder drop off) I finally was able to rock back and forth and get over the edge of shoulder, but my power steering was gone. The fluid is full and the belt is intact. Why would I lose my power steering?
I don't know how much this will help but some common problems with loosing power steering is that your power steering pump is gone.your pump is about a foot below the alternator on the side of the firewall - hard to get to it under the hood without removing some items, I got some prices for you and a new pump couls cost anyware from $18 to $70. also the belt could have loosened up just enough that your power steering wont work. hope this helped.
