SOURCE: need to access the spare tire on a 2000 ford

Hello!
To get the tire down you just need to assemble the jack handle extensions through a hole above the license plate, it is visible with the tailgate closed. It can be a bit of a pain to get the extension to engage with the little winch that holds up the tire, but it will go on, once you get the extension on just put the tire wrench on the extensions(the wrench has square opening in it for this) and just wind the tire down till you have enough slack to take out the cable that runs through the hole in the center of the rim.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How do you take off the spare tire from a 2004 escalde

The jack handle fits though a hole in the rear bumper and you turn it and a cable lets the tire lower to the ground. Most cars and trucks with this tire mounted under the rear of the car use this way to hold the tire up until needed, The foot on the end of the cable can be sid stepped and the foot pull though and the tire is free to be put on the car, Many aftermarket wheels won't fit on the foot on the end of the cable and you'll have to put the flat in the car to get it to the service center and then the spare can go up in there and the shop will likly put the spare back where it belongs for the event that you need the spare again.

I need to remove the spare tire from underneath my 2004 Escalde?

The spare is held in place by a cable hoist, the the tool kit for changing tires has the crank to lower the spare. the access hole is through the bumper in most cases, look under the rear bumper u will see the crankin down access easily that way.
