Well I went through hell with my loyale and to find out they really didn't do a good job on the fuel tank/pump combo. First the pump is outside the tank which is nice except that if your gas turned into sludge there is no way to clean it out. I tried all kinds of solvents from alcohol to toluene and ether. Also tried many different types of snakes on a drill but there is no way to clean it out enough for it to flow properly by gravity because of the upward flow:then sideways and down.

If you're fuel pump isn't making noise disconnect the fuel line and make sure it flows gas out by gravity before you go buying a pump. You can clean the pump alot easier than you can clean the tank.

Want start after sitting up for 4 months

Check wiring if all connected. Is battery good or does it need to be charged or jumped, 4 months sitting is a long time. Turn on headlights, hit starter, if lights go dim battery is low or bad.

The pump is in the tank. The tank has to be droped to replace it. Pumps can go bad at anytime without warning. A failing pump you may not have noticed but can go bad when sitting. Try checking the autoshut down relay and fuses assiciated with the pump. Seems its not getting power or has failed.

Fuel pump does not run on my 1990 corvette its been sitting for several months

whack the bottom of the fuel tank with a sturdy broom handle or shovel handle, while someone cranks the engine. if this dosent knock the fuel pump free you will have to drop tank and replace fuel pump.

Did you use the fuel that was sitting in there for 8 months? If so, you probably clogged something in the fuel system. Either the fuel filter, the injectors, or the filter on the fuel pump itself.
