Radio won't shut off

I have an 06 Delux Mustang, the radio will not shut off, even after I open the door with the key out of the ignition, is this a relay that I can fix or is it something I have to get done at the dealer?

I have a 2006 Ford F150 crew cab with a similar problem. Starting 9/9/15 at 6pm. When parked and key is removed: the radio will ONLY shut off when the FRONT PASSENGER DOOR is opened. The dome lights are functioning normal and all other gauges are functioning normal. I am on here searching for a solution.

Not 100 % sure on the Mustang, but on F150 this is 1 of 2 places.

First check is if the dome light comes on. If not, check the door switch, and the wiring between the door and the A pillar for a broken wire ( F150 this is a Black w/ yellow wire ).

Second, in the driver's side door sill, under the trim plate, there is a splice in there, that is only in tape. The F150s ( 04-08 ) can have water in the sill with the splice, and it freezes and stops working.
A lot of wires to look through, but you find something similar.
The door sill usually has other issues with it, apart from the radio saying on.

Start with looking through the door to A pillar harness, if your adio stays on, and you don't have dome lamps

06 Pontiac torrent radio continues to run when ignition is in off and key removed, even after drivers door opened, passenger door open then radio stops

Driver door switch ,ajar switch . This switch is a input to the BCM - body control module .
Retained Accessory Power Description and Operation
Retained accessory power (RAP) is a vehicle power mode that permits the operation of selected customer convenience items after the ignition switch is turned OFF. These selected items will remain in operation until a passenger compartment door or liftgate is opened or until the RAP function timer reaches its shut-off limit.
The class 2 RAP power mode is mapped to GMLAN serial data circuit as Off Awake power mode. Refer to Data Link Communications Description and Operation for more information on data link communications. The BCM monitors the ignition switch signals, battery condition and the doors status to determine whether RAP should be initiated. The modules that support the RAP power mode will operate the systems under their control as required by their RAP power mode strategy.
RAP will end when one of the following conditions is met:
• The BCM detects the opening of a passenger compartment door.
• The RAP timer expires.
• The battery capacity decreases below a prescribed limit.
• Any other ignition switch state is chosen.
The function supported in the RAP power mode is the operation of the radio.

It would go off on it's own in ten min.

My ford radio comes on when I open the door no key in ignition

Call Ford, it might be something that can be set to do that. Many cars have features that can be set up in that way. Other than that I have no idea? Good luck.

Dome light and key in ignition tone won't quit.

Yes, I would lean toward a stuck drivers door latch. Your door open switch is located in the latch itself and the ding is a reminder your key is in the ignition so you don't lock them in the vehicle when you lock the door. even though your door is shut, the truck still thinks it is open. sometimes spraying the latch with some WD-40 will get it freed up and working again, but a new latch might be in your future.

If my passenger door is opened and shut while the car is off it sets off my security system and if I do not deactivate it in time it will disable my ignition. Why would the passenger door set it off?...

most vehicles with passive alarms- unless you unlock with key fob go into security mode- the vehicle it cant tell the difference if u unlock with key or with a slim jim so it will activate security system thats why you have to insert key into ignition or use key fob to shut off or reset unit and the system is active on all doors {both or 4dr}

Why doesn't the radio shut off even when key is removed and driver door is opened?

My Guess is that radio is not the original one. They didn't connect the right wire that goes to your ignition switch. (acc power on) Hope that helps.

Radio will not shut off once key is removed...

radios have two feeds one from the ignition and one permanent live. if this is the case then you will find they have not fitted in correct order or even in some cases not at all on the ignition as it does not realy need it. you will also find if the stereo is brand new that all the cables will be clearly marked with a tag and you will have to disconnect the cable for the connection to the car warnign system.

Radio won't turn off.

The radio should still shut off after 20 minutes even if the door is not opened. If it stays on longer than this there is still a problem..
