SOURCE: Rear Axle Removal

if you are talking about the axle seals, 1.REMOVE THE WHEELS.2. REMOVE THE DIFF COVER(slowly)3.REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY.4.REMOVE THE 8MM PIN IN THE DIFF CARRIER. 5.TURN CARRIER AND REMOVE THE LARGE PIN.6. FIRMLY HIT IN THE AXLE, A SMALL RETAINING C CLIP WILL FALL INTO THE DIFF HOUSING. DO THE SAME WITH THE OTHER SIDE. ( be careful if you have rear speed sensors remove it when you remove the brake calipers . you will break it when you are pushing in the axles.)7.pull axles and replace seals

SOURCE: Rear Axle Seal Replacement

remove rear tires, then remove brake calipers and rotors, then remove the 4 nuts (each side) that hold the axle shafts to the axle tube (located around the axle tube behind the backing plate) then using a slide hammer pull the axle shafts out, next using a die grinder and an air hammer get he retainer collar and the bearing off (without damaging the axle shaft) then remove the seal and the outer race which will still be in the housing. next put it all back together, make sure the plate with the studs is still on then slide the seal, bearing, then retainer on (all new parts) and using a press push them all the way back on. then is simple reassembly.

SOURCE: REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKING ONTO BRAKE SHOES NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FIX

Jack up vehicle and support on stands. Remove wheels. Remove differential cover . Locate and remove lock pin that holds cross shaft in. Slide cross shaft out. Push axle inward to release axle c clip. Remove axle and pry out old seal. Install new seal with proper tool.Add some lube to the seal lip to aid axle intallation. Revese removal procedure. This is for a "c" type axle.
Another type has 4 nuts attaching a retainer plate to the backing plate behind the axle flange. In this case the 4 nuts are removed and the axle will come out. This may require a little effort. I think that you have a "c" type axle in your vehicle. Hope this helps. Moe

SOURCE: How do I remove the rear axle to replace the seal 1996 jimmy

You will have to remove the differential cover on the rear end, in the center of the gear cluster you'll have to rotate your axle until it exposes the ends of the axle shafts, push in the axles as far as you can from the brake pad assembly area, then, there this a C clips that slips into a groove on the end of the axle, you'll have to reove the C clip to pull out the axle.

Where can i get a copy of the land cruiser 100 series service schedule and sheets/coupons

try the Toyota service centre as they will probably be the only place that you could get this. If you cruise the Toyota wreckers you may get one from a wreck or from the spares them selves.

My rear diff housing is leaking quite badly. is it possible the pinion seal is the problem

yes it is very possible. to confirm where your leak is, look in 4 places. 1) rear diff cover..... 2)pinion seal, where your driveshaft goes into the rear end, or axle seals, just look and see if there is any fluid on the inside of your tires.

1997 toyota landcruiser colorado rear axle oil leak, oil is leaking from the axle casing into the handbrake drum on the nearside rear.

You need to have your seal replaced. I would recommend installing new bearing while you're at it.
