Newer cars now are preset for an idle. But you still may have a problem with your intake gasket. It may be blown alowing to much air to enter the engine causing the idle to go high. The best way to check to see if the intake is gone is by useing some starter fluid and spray a little around the intake and lissen to your enine. If it idles higher then you do in fact have a bad gasket if not then you are ok . You may need to tak it to a machanic and have it put on the computor to idle it back down or fix what is wrong with it.
