Check the coil connection and the fuses for ignition. If your car has an alarm with the kill switch, reset it. This is also common.

My lumina will not start, according to Tripple A the alarm is not allowing power to the starter. How do I disconnect the alarm?

if it is a aftermarket alarm there is two ways to do it first there should be a fuse under the hood by the battery just unplug the fuse . the second way is to get under the dash there is a control box there that you can unplug but if it is a factory alarm you have to go to the dealer for the code to reset it

How to disable a 1997 chevy lumina alarm

if it is a stock gm alarm, it is integral to the body control module and cannot be disabled. if it is an aftermarket, it depends entirely on how it was installed and what kind of system it is.

93 chevy lumina. alarm went off and car wont start. lost remote disconected battery re conected, but car will not start what can be done

I take it your alarm has remote start? If so, pull the panel above the drivers feet and look for where the yellow "start" wire has been cut and each end will be ran separately into your alarm. reattach both ends of the yellow wires.

Alarm will not go off

Answer
Gotcha, let's put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to default mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

Let me know if it works for yours.

99 chevy lumina wont crank!

you probably have a broken wire in the ignition that reads the resistance in the chip in the key. there are two wires that attach the ignition switch to the security system.I had the same problem and it can be easily fixed by putting a resister in place of the chip in the key.any garage that puts alarm systems in cars will be able to do this very easily and very economically.
