It has 75,000 miles on it. It's my friends car, so I'm not sure about any troublecodes.

SOURCE: acceleration issues after car warms up...

after 15 minutes the car should be out of what is called "open loop" mode, which means it runs off the computer. once warm it is in "closed loop" mode and is running off the vehicle's sensors. the first sensor I would suspect is bad is the primary oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold. if it is not that, it is probably the coolant temp sensor or intake air temp sensor/maf sensor. likely it is the oxygen sensor, though, causing the car to run rich and therefore slow.

SOURCE: What is a knock sensor? And could this cause a car

A knock sensor is simply a microphone that is screwed into the engine block. It is there to listen for pinging or engine "knock" that is caused by poor fuel or extreme load. When the computer hears the knock, it retards timing, which in turn reduces the tendency for knocking, however, it will reduce power to a certain extent as well. It is possible that a faulty knock sensor can be telling the computer to ****** ignition timing too much, it is also possible that there is a mechanical problem within the engine that is mimicking the sound of knocking and retarding timing as well.

I have a 96 ford explorer, will start and idle fine , sometimes it will accelerate fine then I will loose RPM/speed and have to pull off road sputter out til it dies. press gas to raise rpm nothing

Try the fuel filter. If that is not a problem then the other thing I would suggest is to check the fuel pump. If the pressure is being lost in the fuel pump then your car will lose it's acceleration.

Recently changed spark plugs on 2003 kia spectra. Afterwards it started to sputter at low rpms. I changed fuel filter and it still sputters. When moving and over 1000 rpm it runs fine. What do I do?

Check engine light came on, has trouble accelerating and while I'm idling it's jumps and sputters. This is the first real problem I've had with this car in three to four years.

could be the air flow meter. you'll see it after the air filter and it will have about 6 or 7 wires coming outa it. see if there pushed in if not den it might need replacement. only a guess now!!

try replacing your transmission fluid to ease up the drive, might as well try replacing the sparkplugs for better fuel burning.

AC died, a belt is broken, now no tachometer or power

It probably ran the alternator too and without it the battery ran down so the engine went dead without any power.
