Need to know if I can put a Kia Sephia engine in


For a direct bolt in swap, it needs to be the same chassis/frame, not body. Otherwise you'll need to find a swap kit to put it into anything else. Or make your own mounts like I do. I put a 383 small block High Performance engine I built into a 1974 AMC Javeline AMX and OMG is this baby a supercar. I made my own motor mounts out of steel plates welded together and bolted solid to engine and frame.

I had a new clutch asembly and new slave cly put in my 1990 nissan truck about year and half ago. My problem is my clutch is hard to push down and if i don't push it all the way to floor it will g


replace the clutch master cylinder. The rubbers on the piston swell over time and/ or break down blocking up the ports in the cylinder.. Wrong fluid is the main culprit for this type of fault.

Instructions
  1. Remove the Old Clutch
    • 1Remove the exterior parts (those that are not in the engine compartment) to include the floor shifter inside the cab of your F-150 and the exhaust pipe
    • 2Remove interior parts--those parts that are under the hood. This includes the starter, which is attached to the transmission bell-housing. Disconnect the drive-shaft of your F-150 and the hose for your truck's hydraulic slave cylinder.

    • 3Remove the transmission from your F-150. Using a metric socket set, undo the transmission cross-member and bolts, which will allow you to remove the transmission from the truck. You should have plenty of room to work underneath your F-150, as these are tall trucks. In some cases, especially if your truck is lowered, consider using a lift or a jack to raise your truck off the ground for easy access to all components.
    • 4Remove the pressure plate and the worn clutch disk from the transmission.
    • 5Inspect the flywheel. If the clutch flywheel shows significant amounts of wear or is damaged in any way, you should replace it. Reusing a damaged flywheel can cause your new clutch to fail.
    Install the New Clutch
    • 6Install your new clutch disk and pressure plate. You'll need to use the clutch alignment tool, which should come as part of your clutch kit. If your clutch kit doesn't include this tool, you can buy it at an auto partsicon1.png store or any Ford dealership.
    • 7Replace the transmission back into your F-150. Remember to reconnect the transmission cross-member and all bolts.
    • 8Reconnect all interior parts--including the starter, drive-shaft and the hose for the hydraulic slave cylinder. Don't forget to bleed the slave cylinder when you attach the hose.
    • 9Reconnect the exterior parts, which includes the exhaust pipe and the gearshift inside the cab.
    • 10Drive your F-150 slowly in a controlled environment. This will ensure that the new clutch is installed properly and is in good working condition

  1. Remove the Old Clutch
    • 1Verify that your vehicle's clutch is the source of your problems and not the pedal-arm bushings, activating cables or the slave-master cylinder.
    • 2Unhook the positive battery cable, the clutch cable or hydraulic slave cylinder to get the transaxle ready for easy removal. Eliminate anything that may hinder your efforts, including exhaust pipes and the speedometer.
    • 3
    • Secure your car in a safe position before jacking up the front end.
    • 4Stabilize the engine with a jack below the oil pan. Remove the transaxle by undoing at least one engine mount.
    • 5Separate the engine from the transaxle by removing the bolts that surround the flywheel bell housing.
    • 6Push the transaxle away from the engine until the input shift clears the pressure plate.
    • 7Disengage the bolts surrounding the pressure plate and take it and the clutch disc out. Check to see if the flywheel's friction surface is scored, checked or has hot spots. Remove, machine and reinstall the flywheel, if needed.
    • 8Examine the pilot bearing (bushing) located at the flywheel's center to be sure the needle bearings are lubricated and that there's no galling. Also look for any oil leaking around the rear main engine seal.
    Replace the Clutch
    • 9Follow the instructions for replacing your car's clutch carefully to avoid having to remove the transaxle.
    • 10Check that the transaxle's input shaft isn't leaking; replace if needed.
    • 11Take out the flywheel and the old seal and install a new seal.
    Install a New Clutch
    • 12Clean the crankshaft flange before putting in the flywheel. With the flywheel on top of the flange, secure the bolts in a star formation to the specified torque for your vehicle.
    • 13Install the clutch disc and pressure plate. Prior to putting in the transaxle, attach the new release bearing to the release fork. The fork should move freely.
    • 14Hoist the transaxle into position and move it forward until the input shaft glides into the clutch disc's spindled hole. Do not apply force.
    • 15Reinstall any bolts or mounts that were removed to replace your car's clutch. Grab the transaxle, release the jack and lower your vehicle.
    • 16Consider replacing your car's clutch cable. If you don't replace the cable at least adjust it for the right amount of free-play.
    • 17Confirm that your clutch's self-adjusting action is performing correctly by depressing the slave cylinder's piston into its bore.
    • 18Drive your car to be sure your clutch is working properly.

Steps to remove install clutch in a 1994 Pontiac Firebird


Start by disassembling the center console.Then,remove the shifter boot and shifter.Disconnect the wiring harness from the trans and tuck it aside(bungee cords work good for this).Remove the bracket that attaches the torque arm from the rear axle.Mark the universal joint at the axle(so it goes back in the same way),and remove the four bolts on the joint.Lower the driveshaft and slide it out of the trans(put a drain pan down to catch the trans fluid).Remove the clutch slave cylinder from the bellhousing(2 bolts).Unbolt the crossmember and lower it with the trans,then remove from trans.Remove the bolts from the bellhousing to the block(probably want someone's help at this point as the trans is heavy).Then slide the trans out.Remove the 6(?) pressure plate bolts,and remove the plate and disc.If the flywheel surface is cracked from overheating,you'll probably want to replace it also.If it just has minor glaze,you could just take a sanding block with 80 grit paper to clean it up.(I have started the engine and used a high speed sander against the surface to make a"swirl" finish,but this is not for the faint of heart).A good replacement clutch kit will come with a plastic alignment tool,new disc,remanufactured pressure plate,and a throwout bearing.Install the new parts in reverse of removal,leave the pressure plate finger tight,center the disc with the tool,and tighten the bolts in an alternating pattern in several passes,making sure the alignment tool doesn't bind.Put the new thowout bearing in the fork,and put it back together.(getting the trans back into the car will be the hardest part,but don't force it.)If the input shaft doesn't want to line up in the disc,try turning the input shaft a little and try again(gotta get the splines lined up).Now put everything back together,use a skim coat of silicone gasket maker when reinstalling the shifter.(It's been about 15 years since i quit the Pontiac dealer tech job,but this should be enough info for a do-it-yourselfer to get it done as far as I remember)

I am fitting a new clutch assy to my vy ss ute, i bought the kit genuine from Holden removed the old assy and fitted the new flywheel,clutch plate n pressure plate. but my problem is that i have torqued...


Wondering if you compared the thickness of the new pressure plate flange to the old one.If the metal is thinner than the original,maybe the bolts are just bottoming out.If this is the case,you can probably get shorter bolts,trim the originals,or use a fat washer.Just make sure you allow more than just enough,as you don't want them to bottom out at the point where the flange looks seated.

Cluch removel


Open hood,
Disconnect - Neg. battery terminal (ground wire) on Battery side.
Disconnect + Pos. side then.
Unplug any harness' that are plugged into your transmission.
Disconect the Slave and wire it out of the way.
Block up the lower left side of the engine and remove the transmission side motor mount.
Remove the bolts that hold the transmission onto the engine and slide the transmission off of the splined crank (engine output shaft).
The clutch is on the flywheel between the pressure plate and the flywheel.
Don't get cheap now... be sure and replace the throw out bearing and pressure plate and have the flywheel resurfaced if marred too.
follow the instructions that come with the new clutch kit to install and allign the new clutch kit.

Reverse to reinstall.

How to install a clutch kit on my 1994 mitsubishi mighty max


Disconnect the battery, disconnect the Hydraulic Line from the Slave Cylinder, Remove the Starter (2 bolts, 2 wires. Bolts are 14mm, 1 wire is 12mm, 1 plugs in), Remove the Driveshaft(s) (4 12mm bolts) Remove the 6 bolts from the bellhousing (4 are 14mm, 2 are 10mm)
Remove the bolt from the Transfer Case Mount, 12mm (only if it's a 4WD, if it's 2WD this doesn't apply), remove the 2 bolts that hold the Transmission Mount to the Crossmember (12mm or 14mm, it varies)
Slide the transmission back on the crossmember, away from the engine, I recommend running a ratchet strap across the frame to balance the transmission.
Remove the Pressure Plate from the Flywheel (Six 10mm bolts), Inspect the Pilot Bearing (if it needs replaced, you'll need to remove the Flywheel which is held on with six 18mm bolts, drive out the old bearing and drive in the new one, reinstall the flywheel, using Threadlocker on the bolts, torque the bolts to 100 ft lbs) Install the new clutch disc and Pressure Plate, with the centering tool inserted through the disc into the pilot bearing. Use thread locker on the pressure plate bolts and torque them to 20 ft lbs. Remove the centering/alignment tool after you've bolted it together
Remove old Throw Out bearing from input shaft on the transmission and slide the new one on. Slide the Transmission forward (make sure the input shaft slides into the pilot bearing, don't force the transmission into place or you could damage the clutch disc or break the input shaft) Torque the Bellhousing Bolts to 40 ft lbs (4 14mm bolts), Torque the 2 10mm bolts to 14 ft lbs, Install the Starter (torque bolts to 23 ft lbs), Reconnect Hydraulic Line to Slave Cylinder. Torque Transmission Mount Bolts to 30 ft lbs.
Reinstall Driveshafts, torque bolts on flange/yoke to 40 ft lbs. Fill Clutch Master Cylinder with DOT-3 Brake & Clutch Fluid, Open Bleeder Screw on Slave Cylinder and bleed the air out of the system, close bleeder screw.
Reconnect the wires to the Starter, Reconnect the battery.

support the engine, drop the drive lines, pull trans and tranfer case, un bolt clutch, have fly wheel turned and put back together
