take it back. They missed something. You should have a warranty on the work. Of course that does have limits which include both mileage driven and months since the vehicle was released to you. I am guessing you did not do the work since your saying you had it done. There really isn't much you can do other than have it taken apart and checked. So long as your TCM (transmission control module is not bad= computer for transmission)

It sounds like your theft control module is not reading your key. The ignition key tumbler has a 2 wire sensor that read a small diode on the key. I've seen the wires break and cause this type of problem. Unless you are familiar with how to disassemble the column and trace the wiring, it would be better to get an experience mechanic involved. Usually, if the tumbler has to be replaced, it may require reprogramming also.
