    You need a new timing belt and the timing set to the marks,your belt may be missing teeth.

    vct solenoid which is mounted on the exhaust camshaft, and provides a variable timing component to the pcm to fine tune the power b and of the 2.0L engine. When the solenoid goes bad it does not rotate when it should and that is why you are getting not only the check engine light , but the noise as well. Replace the vct solenoid and the problem will be fixed, also change the oil and filter, as small metal particles that are commonly found in the oil can cause premature solenoid failure Read more: 99 ford escort ZX2: 000 miles..fault codes..the replacing..cam sensor - JustAnswerhttp://www.justanswer.com/ford/1y4c2-99-...

    I removed the VCT solenoid that was supposed to be bad, but when we put 3, 4.5 and 6 volts to it, it seems to be working fine. Help!

On some of these Honda's there a screw in the throttle housing, that's your mixture screw turn one way or the other till you get it where you want it, you could also try to readj. your timing, if that don't work you'll need to check your timing belt could have jump a tooth.Good Luck

How do I change the serpentine belt on a 1998 Buick LeSabre, 3.8

My friend;
Try this;
  1. Check the belt pulley may have attaching tension bolts (Nuts), etc.
  2. Loose the belt pulley attaching tension bolts (Nuts), etc.
  3. Normally there are three bolts & or nuts u need to loose to allow u swivel the pulley side way.
  4. Once loose, swivel the pulley side way.
  5. Mostly, you don't have to remove the bolts & or nuts completely.
  6. You may need to remove other serpentine belt to reach the power steering belt.
  7. Removing those other belts work same as the power steering belts or other belts.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Rotate the auto tensioner clockwise to release tension, then remove the drive belt.
To install:
  1. Install drive belt (A). Route the belt over the components in the following order: Crankshaft pulley → A/C pulley → idler pulley → generator pulley → water pump pulley → P/S pump pulley → tensioner pulley.
  2. Rotate auto tensioner arm in the counter-clockwise moving auto tensioner pulley bolt with wrench.
  3. After putting belt on auto tensioner pulley, release the auto tensioner pulley slowly.
