Question about 2009 GMC Sierra 1500
A few days ago a banging noise started from my front end. It only does it when I first start driving, after a while it goes away. This morning it was a few bangs, then a real lonnnnnggg noise. Then nothing. It still drives fine. This afternoon there was no noise but the ABS light came on and the dashboard gave an error msg of Service: Traction Control and Service: Stabilitrak Off Any ideas what this is? I don't even know where to start?

SOURCE: Stabilitrak remains on once I
stabilitrak system is controlled by the abs module. Its job is to maintain
vehicle stability in situations where you may normally lose control by
activating the abs system and/or changing the valving in the shock absorbers.
When the message is displayed there is a problem in the system, could be an
issue with a sensor or wiring. There are a couple of common problems with the
system that require reprogramming the engine control module and the abs module.
This must be performed at the dealer. The only way to know exactly what the
issue is would be to have the abs computer scanned for trouble
GM issued a couple of tech bulletins in regards to owners having this problem.
I hope this helps.
