Most vehicles will function normally if you do this. Try using your brakes at a slow speed like in your driveway before normal use just to make sure !

Need to reset ABS light on 1996 Ford Ranger

Maybe you have a bad speed sensor, its a shot in the dark but that sensor controls a lot of functions like the ABS, speedometer, check engine light can come on, automatics will shift hard or may not shift at all, o/d will flash. The video below shows a 1999 ford ranger automatic but if you check you might have the same sensor.

I have a 1992 ford bronco, which is equipped with ARB air lockers. However I think air lockers are to blame for rear ABS sensor getting chewed up. Is there anything out there to buy that can bypass abs...

I don't know if you have a wiring diagram

I had a 1992 dakota & just unplugged the
abs module under the dash,as in those days,
a 4x4 only had rear abs function

I doubt the abs on a 1992 has anything to do with the
trans
If you also have big tires, that could be the reason your
shift strategy if off.

Need to see a wiring diagram & figure out what you have
Sorry,not familiar with the 92 Bronco,I did have a nice 79

Ford taurus 1996 3.0 ABS ligth on

Hello, These warning lights are pretty accurate. Autozone, Advance, and Oreillys give free scans although the engine system and brake system can require different scanners.

Check your brake fluid level first. The ABS system requires sensors which require counting the revolutions of each wheel. Sometimes the sensors may break, but they can be blinded by dust and debris.

If you have a broken brake pad, the warning light can come on. Often the Emergency brake pad, inside the rear Rotor, can fall apart and trigger an ABS warning.

You need to inspect both the front and rear brakes or take your car to a brake shop for evaluation. Sometimes you can get a free estimate, and some shops can charge for inspecting the Emergency brakes because of the work needed to reach them.

Abs light iluminated...1998 ford 150 lariot truck . Installed new brakes and routers and no miles were put on after. Now When I start it. abs light stays on?

Ford uses a sensor for brake fluid, to test disconnect from Master Cylinder and connect the leads together. If light goes out, replace the sensor.

Where is ABS sensor ? it can be replaced by a new sensor ? how i know that this sensor is bad?

There is a sensor at each wheel. If the light came on have it checked by a technician familiar with ABS. The sensor might not be the problem - it could also be the part that it is "sensing." Sometimes a blown fuse will turn the ABS light on. When the ABS is disabled the brakes still function as conventional brakes.

1996 Ford Explorer XLT abs light comes on on

The ABS light is for the Anti-lock Braking System. The MIL will illuminate if there is a difference in wheel speed sensors signals to the PCM. So you might have a wheel speed sensor that is going out on you. Does the light come on at low speeds, or just higway speeds? You could take the vehicle to a local parts store and have them pull the codes for you and that will tell you which speed sensor is out of whack. Also road grime, dirt and gunk buildup can cause speed sensors to give false readings. Hope tihs helps you out.......

1996 Ford Mustang GT ABS Lamp on constantly

The ABS light is for panic stops. You have to have it put on a scan dino in order to find the right sensor that is not working or you could look at the sensor on the bcak side of the disc or drums and see if you see cracks in it. It might not be plugged in all the way since you had the axle replaced. Check all connection on back side of each brake. You would have to take it in to a dealer to find the sensor thats not working right they can pin point it.

this is normal, all abs systems are full time, if they weren't then the systems would be useless.
