First of all removing of radio will definitely give you alot more room. (rememeber you will nee radio code after you unplug radio) I would recommend that you disconnect battery before you EVER work on air bags. This module is pretty simple to remove but it is help by Special TORX screws. after removal of screw it its a yellow latch to pull across and unplug. Good luck thanks for using FIX YA

Reset airbag

If the Airbag light is on then unless the battery was disconnected you have a fault in the Airbag system and the control module turned on the warning light. There is no reset for a fault, you must read the code with a scan tool and repair the problem and then the light will go out.

2001 pontiac grand am air bag module reset

Yes!!! You can replace it yourself.(Dont let others fool you into paying extra or telling you otherwise.)
-This is for pontiac grand ams 1999-2005 only.
-There are no frontal airbag impact sensors nor are there belt tensioners.
-The SRS system consists of only the (driver airbag) ,(passanger airbag),and the (airbag control module) in 1999-2005 grand ams.

If you crash/wrecked and airbags deployed you will need.
-Driver and Passanger airbags
-Airbag control module

You can buy cheap airbags from a local junkyard any year from 1999-2005 will fit.
You can also find an airbag control module for cheap at your local junk yard BUT YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH THE SAME (PART NO.) AND (SERV NO.) AS THE ONE YOUR REPLACING.The (part no.) and (serv no.) should be at top left of airbag control module. However it does (Not) have to match numbers under barcode or the numbers at the far bottom right of airbag control module.

After you get both airbags and airbag module
-Disconnect car Battery
-Replace airbags
-Replace airbag module (under passanger seat)
-Double check all connections and connect battery.

Congradulations!Your airbags should be back online.

Notes: Two torx 35 head screws hold the driver airbag, access is through two holes behind steering column.
To remove passanger airbag you have to remove glovebox it uses (7mm)screws.After you remove you will see a pair of (10mm)screws holding airbag.
To remove airbag control module First remove passanger seat 2(15mm).Then after removing you will notice a raises area kinda like a vertical bump.Take a razor blade to your carpet and cut it to explose the module underneath.
The airbag module is held by three screws depending on the year of your car it varies. Most likely 3 (10mm).

REPLACING CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH

2. Remove airbag module (See AIRBAG REMOVAL below).

3. Remove speed control switch mounting screw and remove switch from steering wheel.

4. Reverse procedure to install.
AIRBAG REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable from battery.

2. From the underside of the steering wheel, remove the two screws that secure the driver airbag to the steering wheel armature.
CAUTION: The horn switch and the clockspring pigtails connected to the back of the airbag module are fragile. Do not pull on these wires to disengage them. These must be handled carefully to prevent damage to the horn switch and/or the clockspring assembly.
3. Pull the driver airbag away from the steering wheel enough to access the three electrical connections on the back of the airbag housing.

4. Disconnect the steering wheel wire harness connector for the horn switch from the horn switch feed pigtail wire connector, which is located on the back of the driver airbag housing.

5. The clockspring driver airbag pigtail wire connectors are secured by integral latches to the airbag inflator connector receptacles, which are located on the back of the driver airbag housing. Depress the latches on each side of the connector insulator and pull the insulators straight out from the airbag inflator to disconnect them from the receptacles.

6. Remove the driver airbag from the steering wheel.

7. Reverse procedure to install.

On my 1990 ltd cv air bag lights

Airbag lights are a bit more involved of a process. It could be as simple as getting your airbag control module reset (usually about $100-150) or it could be the result of a different problem. Possible causes for an airbag light are: 1) crash data stored in the airbag control module, requiring reset 2) bad clockspring - this sends data to the airbag inflator module 3) other fault in the SRS system. The only way to be sure what the problem may be is to get the system read for code and go from there. The airbag light will stay on regardless of a manual reset by removing the battery cable because the codes are stored in a different memory than standard trouble codes. Since the car checks the airbag system completely once you start, that is why the light won't go off until the data is erased from the airbag system control module. Once you find out what the cause is, getting the necessary parts and installing them would be simple enough. Do not just reset the system, have it scanned for possible codes first. Having an airbag randomly inflate while driving could prove to be problematic.

The light on the dashboard for airbag just recently turned on in my 1997 BMW 328i sedan. What will be the first thing I should do to check and solve the problem? Is there any testing procedure or testing...

Theres a module called airbag restraint control module that should either be under your center console or under the hood. Have the wires or that module checked for any trouble codes. Your crash sensors may have been disabled as well.

SRS on

You can't reset it, the light will clear/ turn off when the problem with air bag system is repaired, right now the system has been disabled by the control module, SRS stands for supplemental restraint system, or air bags for short.
