What kind of oil do you i use in a 1995 cad sedan deville

What ever your heart desires.
If its not burning oil then it would not be a waste to use a full synthetic. The oil fill cap may recomend 5w 30. Personaly I don't go lower than 10w 30.
1, I live in California and I don't have freezing winters.
2, The low numbers are based on what the EPA recommends. Its for the enviroment and not engine protection. The less resistance that you may get from a heavier oil means less emmisions.

1998 Cadillac Deville Northstar engine...when I bought the blower motor was bad...we fixed that... the mechanic said we need an oil pan gasket...but we have no leaks kinda smell something like oil...

Keep checking the oil every time you gas up and you will be able to estimate how much oil it uses/100 miles or so. Then you can plan your trip. If the oil gets too low a warning will show up. That engine has about 7 quarts in the pan. As long as you don't run the engine low on oil the leak is just waste.

Diagnosed as #1 cylinder misfiring went to look into replacing plugs and wires plugs are way down there and I found oil in the plug well I am guessing that oil in the plug well is very bad!!

The oil maybe your misfire

You change spark plugs, only as preventative maintanance, at 60,000 miles,if that is what you decide on

Wires can last for 15 years or more, there is no need to waste money, as most people do. They don't fail very often, then only one spot ,on one wire will burn out.

Replace the valve cover gaskets or whatever is the cause of the oil leak ,onto the plugs

WHAT KIND OF OIL SHOULD I GET FOR MY 2002 CHEVY TRAILLAZER WITH OVER 150,000 MILES?

with this mileage it is a waste to put in 5/40 full synthetic, put in 10/40 semi(the best you can afford)and when the engine starts to burn oil,20/50.

What type of motor oil is suitable to use in Mazda 626 V6 engine?

because of the age using a 5/40 full synthetic is a waste of money, use 10/40 or 20/50 depending on oil burn.semi synthetic.

Why does my 1994 honda civic waste so much oil. i pour oil every other day but i have no leaks

My friend;
Try this;
1. You may use bad grade {brand} oil.
2. You could be driving fast {speeding up}.
3. You may have bad cylinder / piston ring, which causing oil to leaks inside the cylinder & burn it up through exhaust.
4. Check the quality of your oil: your car must or should use 20W-50 viscosity .
5. Check your radiator it should NOT has oil mixed with its water.

Try it, & PLZ; let me know if I add any benefits to you.
I hope I add some thing valuable to you.

How do i change the oil?

jack the car and support it on jackstands. put a can or oil catcher under the oil drain plug then loosen but do not remove the plug. slowly start to remove the plug letting oil drain out . when all the oil is drained remove the filter using a filter wrench available at most auto stores for under $10. hand tighten the new filter acoring to the instructions on the filter then replace the drain plug. Now add up to the specified litres of oil and check under the car/truck for leaks around the drainplug and filter. now you are done

Audi 2.8 Avant burns oil

hi kieran,
ur problem is very easy to solve, but its an expensive fix..........($$$)

i dont know how much u know about cars, but every car with en engine(other than the Wankel) which has pistons......the pistons run in the cylinders of the engine block......at the top of the engine is where all the work is done, at the bottom part(just below the pistons), there is a lot of oil to lubricate all of the fast moving engine parts.....when a car burs oil what usually happens is that the oil goes up from the crank case, squesses between the piston and the cylinder walls and gets burned with the gas......and vise versa, at the power stroke the exhaust gasses enter the crankcase and slowly burn the oil that way.......so oil burns every 2 of the 4 strokes......there is 4 strokes in one rpm......idling is about 1500 rpm for ur audi....u do the math.......and the oil slowly burns........when the car heats up the oil burns even faster bacuse the temperature of the oil is already high.......
the pistons are equipped with piston rings to prevent oil from getting into the combustion chamber and exhaust gasses getting into the crankcase.......and the tolerance between the pston and the cylinder is also very important for the car not to burn oil......
tehre are a few ways to fix it.........the best and the most expensive would be to: bore out the cylinders, get new pistons (v6...) and get new rings, and u also might need to get the block and heads faced off(if there is any warpage....the heads are aluminum...).......
this process is called and engine rebuild and could cost u well over $2000 depending on what kind of quality u are looking for.......(its not worth it.....especially for this car, they are very cheap)...

the cheapest way to fix the problem about 75% would be just to get new piston rings.......but as soon as u take those heads off....shaving them is a must if they are warped.........and while u still have them off u might need to do the valves, which could also help the problem......and while u have the pistons out, might as well change them too...right???? so its spendy......

u might also have another problem,......a faulty gasket or o-ring, and the oil might be leaking from that faulty spot right on the exhaust, and might burn the oil that way...........that would defently explain the smell getting into the car.....if this is what is wrong, then the fix could be very easy, fast, and cheap...

if ur burning too much oil, it could be both of the problems at the same time.........plus a few more on top of that......

i hope this helps.........
....now if someone could only help me.......

i know u have posted this a while back, and probably have the problem fixed by now, but if this could help anyone else, then its not a usless waste of time......
