Just bought the car and found out that it has no reverse. runs ok but no reverse
Unfortunaetly, you will need to have the transmission tore down and repaired by a qualified shop

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The switch is on the gearbox, But not sure of the exact location for your model. But guess there are not many other wired items on the gearbox.

Car is in limp in mode unless you have the tools to work on automatic transmission you will need to take it to a transmission shop. Of course you can check oil level but I suspect you have other issues.

you did not state which engine you have but if you are not real handy and/or have experience this is not one you should tackle as your first alternator because...
all will require that you either drop the rear of the subframe or rotate the engine forward to remove the alternator.
everything else is the same...remove the belt, unbolt and remove
about an hour job with experience and two hours if a first time

Give this a try. If your radio has a button AR or AS, when the ignition key is off, press and hold the AR or AS button throughout this process. Then turn on your ignition.
Press button 1 repeatively until the first digit of your radio code is displayed, do this for the second digit with button 2, the third digit with button 3 and the fourth digit with button 4. When all numbers are showing on the screen push button 5. This should reset the unit.
If the button fails to reset do not keep repeating the process or it will say Forever locked. There are several models and forever is not always what it means. To get your Code there is a site called Fordcodes.com and for $6.99 they will email it.
There is a Code reprogrammer called an E13. A technician or radio shop would need this tool to recover your radio to make it work. If you use your Browser you will see many questions but few answers for this problem except to take the radio in. If you are lucky to have the model of radio which can be reset by this procedure it will eliminate the trip.
I hope this works out for you, the success depends on the series of the radio.
