On many cars the lighter and dashlights sometimes share a common fuse..so most likely that is your problem

SOURCE: fuse/circuit breaker for cig.lighter/radio/dash lights

The heavy duty or 'circuit breakers' should be in the engine compartment, perhaps in front of the air breather. There are one or may be 2 inside behind the front side kick panels driver and passenger side, or under the steering wheel.

Better check the fuses closer. A test light is the easiest way, if you have one. If not, read your manual closely or pull the fuse and inspect it.

you can't just look at the fuses. buy a fuse tester, usually 10 bucks or so at any parts store. then you can properly check all the fuses. chances are that's what it is, but you have to check it the right way. find the bad one, and replace it. the people at the auto store should be able to help a little. hope that helps.

SOURCE: how do i find a

Hi, you can get a free manual at the following link: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

This server is down at the moment, but is usually working, so you should check again tomorrow. There is a complete fuse box detail in the owners manual, but please get back to me if you are not able to solve your problems using the manual.

If you're in a hurry, here are a few fuses you can check:
Inside the truck: 11, 17, 22, 35,

under the hood: 8, 16, 33,

Having trouble with fuse # 17th

From my wiring diagram power for the radio is fuse # 29 a 25amp fuse! The fuse for cig lighter also powers the DLC Pin # 16 . The DLC is the connector under the dash left of the steering wheel . This is where you would hook up a scan tool ! Are you saying by part dash lights ,that some of the dash lights are out ? Could just be some burnt out bulbs ! Was fuse # blown ? Did you cig light work before ? Could have a shorted out cig. lighter or the outlet ! To fix dash bulbs the instrument cluster would need to be pulled ! How to Replace Dashboard Lights In Depth

Why won't my cigarette lighter work?

if the fuses re good then you will need to remove the lighter and check for power behind it. some lighters have a fuse link built in and if thats blown will need to replace the whole lighter assembly.

My dashboards lights and gages aren't working

You may want to check to see if you have a "gauges" fuse on the fuse panel. Another possibility is the cigarette lighter fuse. Sometimes they're wired on the same circuit.

Hope this helps! :)

Cigarette lighter aren't working in 2002 pt cruiser

Usually a 30 amp fuse is the culprit in this case.
Fuse is usually under the dash.

If fuse is good...then, I'd check the back of lighter socket to see if we have voltage.
If we do...then you have bad element in lighter itself.

Hope this helps...

2004 envoy service engine light on. Tried to check with scanner for code no power at scanner connecter. could this be a fuse? If so where would it be located?

the cigarette lighter probably doesnt work either. check your owners manual for the lighter fuse because that is the same fuse for the scanner connector. should be located either under the hood or under the dash.

I have a chrysler sebering 2005 touring . My chysler's lighter does not work. Need to find a solution. Can't find the fuse location.

fuse panel should be under the dash on the drivers side,it may be in a box like panel that may swing down to face you when you release the lock holding it in place.if the fuse is good then if you take a test light and ground one end of the test light and take the other end and touch the centre of the socket at the bottom and don`t touch the sides of the lighter socket to see if the test light lights up.if so then it probably is the lighter element itself(the part that actually lights a cigarette).

Clock and dash lights dont work or radio--

These items clock, radio, dash lights are usually fused on the same circuit. Please check the fuses for this problem. The fuse or fuses should be listed on the fuse box cover inside the interior fuse box. Replace the blown fuse if that is that problem. If it blows again, then the cig lighter circuit may be involved. Make sure the cig lighter is free of any objects, remove lighter, (push in part). Try new fuse while lighter is out, and if problem goes away, push in may be bad.

THE LIGHT IN ASHTRAY FOR 2003 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER IS OUT..

if the lighter works its probably not a fuse. to find your fuse box look on the driver side kick panel by your left foot or in the dash. if the lighter is working youll have to replace the light do this by pulling the ash tray out of the cradle there should be a wire that plugs into the back of the tray twist it out usually counter clockwise and this will expose the light. pull the light out repace with a fresh bulb and your in business.
