SOURCE: location of thermostat on 2001 dodge stratus

It's not the most convenient location, but if you follow to top radiator hose back to where it meets the engine, that is the thermostat housing. It should have the radiator hose and a heater hose hooked up to it. Here's the shop manual directions for changing it, if you want them. The following instructions come from my Hanes Repair Manual #25040 for the replacement of a thermostat on the 2.7 L engine:

1. Raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel. Remove the accessory drivebelt splash shield.
2. Remove the accessory drivebelts.
3. Remove the lower alternator mounting bolt.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the alternator electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the air conditioning compressor.
7. Remove the oil dipstick and the dipstick tube. Plug the hole in the oil pan with a clean shop rag to prevent debris from entering the pan.
8. Remove the rest of the alternator mounting bolts and then remove the alternator.
9. Loosen the hose clamps and then disconnect the two hoses from the thermostat housing cover.
10. Remove the thermostat housing cover bolts and then remove the housing.
11. Note how the thermostat is installed, with the "jiggle valve" at the 12 o'clock position, and then remove the thermostat.
12. Remove all traces of sealant from the housing and coverr with a gasket scraper.
13. Install the thermostat housing cover and then tighten the bolts to the correct torque.
14. Reattach the hoses to the thermostat housing cover. Make sure that the hose clamps are still tight.
15. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of the removal.
16. When you're done, refill the cooling system.
17. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then check for leaks and proper thermostat operation.

The drain is located on the passenger side of the radiator at the bottom. Turn it counterclockwise to open. It is plastic so be careful if you decide to use tools to turn.

Radiator drain plug

Should be located on one of the bottom corners or bottom middle of the radiator, either in the front or rear side of the corners. It may be covered by a plastic air dam or under-engine fascia panel that may need to be removed to access the drain plug. Chrysler has also been known to hide their drain plugs behind the grille on the front of the vehicle so if you have no luck underneath the car, see if anything is visible behind the grille.

2001 Dodge Stratus R/T o2 Sensor Locations

Yeah, you could do that. Bank 1 is always the engine side where the number 1 cylinder is located. Sensor 1 is the first sensor in the exhaust system, nearest the engine. Sensor 2 is always located farther downstream in the exhaust.

Where is the starter located in the 2001 dodge stratus? it is a 20=.7 6 cyclinder

The starter is located in the front of the engine and it is on the bottom. It is almost dead center, right in the middle of the engine. Start from the middle of your front end. Jack the car up and it is directly after your radiator. It should be hid partially by your exhaust.

Replace thremostat on 2005 dodge stratus

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Drain pan, Pliers, Socket wrench, Socket set, metric
    2.0L and 2.4L Engines
  1. 1 Locate the thermostat by following the upper radiator hose if your car has a four-cylinder engine, or the lower hose if your car has a six-cylinder engine. The hoses are thick rubber hoses that run from the radiator. The other end of the appropriate hose attaches to the engine block at the thermostat housing. Place a clean drain pan below the thermostat housing, then disconnect the hoses from the housing. To remove the hoses, squeeze the tabs on the clamps with a pair of pliers. Make sure that the coolant drains into the pan.
  2. 2 Unbolt the coolant outlet connector from the thermostat housing to reveal the thermostat. It is held in place by two bolts. Remove and replace the thermostat and gasket underneath. Bolt the connector back in place and reattach all hoses you disconnected in the previous step.
  3. 3 Refill the coolant tank with the drained coolant. Run the engine with the radiator cap removed for at least ten minutes to bleed air from the system. Replace the cap.
hope this hepls you.

Where is radiator drain plug and thermostat for 2000 dodge stratus

Lower right hand side of the radiator (passenger side when facing the front of the engine) on the back side of the radio when standing in front of the vehicle. the thermostat i think is in the housing where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine, if not it is where the upper hose connects to the engine, a more detailed explanation is found here
