Question about Cars & Trucks
Hold the pedal to the floor while you spin the motor, that will put the computer into a clear flood condition and will cut all fuel to the injectors allowing you to clear out the intake and cylinders. You also might check and see if you have a vacuum controlled fuel pressure regulator. If the vacuum line to that is broken, or the regulator is bad and letting fuel flow through the vacuum line will also cause this problem.

you don't hit the alternator, you hit the starter to help is shake free because it is already going bad. take battery and alternator to parts store and have both tested. check the wires at the starter and make sure they are on SECURELY. very important SOLID CONTACT is occurring. do your lights turn on? check starter relay if the eclipse is equipped with one.

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.
