Question about Cars & Trucks
The theft light is blinking rapidly?
I am sure you have fixed this by now, if not it the chip in your key.
The car is not reading the chip and refuses to start.
jiggle it a but and keep trying. My van did this for 2 days once and then it just stopped and I havnt had a problem since.

Refer to the owners manual for dis-arming procedure for the anti-theft, if you do not have the owners manual here is a link to Ford for a free PDF file of the owners manual.

This means that your key is not being recogonized.Ethier the chip in the key is bad or the patts transciever at the lock cylinder. Do you have a spare key? If not you will have to get 2 new keyss cut and programmed.

while it is possible to perform that swap, the newer 2000+ transmissions will have updated internals and such.
so will it work............. yes.
is it optimal.................no.

close the door and put the key in the door lock and unlock the door ... that should stop the anti theft and your van should start unless the battery is bad.
