Sounds like the starter is going out. Autozone will check those for free. It's just 2 bolts mounting the thing. It's under the passenger side rear of the engine. Undo battery, those 2 bolts and keep track of which wires go where. Run down to Autozone for a check or a new starter.

take a look at your brakelight switch, you may have a short somewhere in the circuitry. After a certain amount of time it dislodges itself electrically after a cdertain amount of time. I have no idea of the time lapse. Also check all of your fuses, under the dash and those in the engine compartment. One could be loose.
