Question about 2006 Mini Cooper
Brakes on my 05 cooper S were recently replaced. Almost immediatly after, the ABS and other lights came on. A few weeks after the passenger side air bag came on too. Could this be caused by the brake replacement?
Yes and NO...it could be the wheel sensor was not hooked up or damaged during the brake servicing....but the air bag problem is probably not related...a proper diagnosis would require that the codes be retrieved from the computer then go from there.

SOURCE: air bag light
there is a wire that is attached via your seatbelt latch that runs under the seat.
It will make a "DING" sound when the seatbelt is unlatched and the the door is open.
Find the wire and pull it out then complete the circuit by wrapping the 2 wires together and maybe throw a little tape on em!
Or you could just pull the fuse for that sensor. haha

Did they replace the brake pad wear sensor? If so, try leaving the key in the on postion for 30-45 seconds (dont start the car) This is how we reset the lights on BMW's and the Mini's use a similar system for service lights

If I remember correctly, you need to pop off the plastic trim panel on the inside of the trunk to access the wiring. Just unplug it after removing all the screws and it should come out.
