Sounds like yor car is in limp home mode. Funny name I know but its true. You may have lost your cam sensor so it went it this mode. A car won't start with out a crank senor but it will with out a cam sensor it just takes a few revolutions of the engine. Find your cam sensor and replace it hope this helps you

Your ecu is in need of repair. Your jeep has what is known as the "delayed check engine light problem". Time has taken it's toll on some of your ecu's internal components, the ones that supply power the fuel and ignition circuit relays. The ecu is slow to supply power to the circuits in the morning, causing the delay. Your jeep may also have a bad crank sensor, which would cause the sudden shutdown while driving. Your ecu can be repaired or replaced, your choice. Both options are available on ebay.

1995 JEEP WRANGLER 2.5L HARD START COLD 1 START OF THE DAY

When you're trying to start it for the first time of the day, look at the dash to see if the check engine light is on when you first turn on the ignition. If the check engine light is not lit up, your Jeep ecu is in need of repair and the vehicle will not start until that check engine light finally comes on.

Location/testing of crank sensor 1995 jeep wrangler

Should be on the bellhousing on the drivers side just where you need rubber arms to reach it.Should have no continuity between b&c terminals (check with ohmeter) Harness plug is usually on the drivers side between the master cyl and the back of the engine (unless someone moved it)
