SOURCE: Firing order on my 304

The firing order, which should be cast into the intake manifold, for the chevy small block V8 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The firing order is the numerical sequence in which the spark plugs are fired. The insertion position of each spark plug wire around the circumference of the distributor cap can be found according to a clock face. The insertion sequence determines the firing order.

The firing order is followed clockwise around the distributor cap starting from the 6:30 position with the 6:30 position being the number one cylinder spark plug wire.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: I need a diagram for the firing order on an AMC 304 motor

Firing Order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. You should be able to find the order listed on the intake, just below the front of the carb.

Piston Numbering From Radiator To The Firewall:
Driverside: 1,3,5,7 (1 is closest to the radiator)
Passenger: 2,4,6,8 (2 is closest to the radiator)

Trace your #1 piston spark plug wire from the engine to the distributor. Firing order on the distributor is clockwise from #1.

What is code 301 302 303 304 305 306 on this honda

these codes refer to engine miss fires. and the cylinders that are miss firing, hence the last #in the code. could be spark, fuel, or something in the system that allows the cylinder to fire.

2003 sorento 3.5 cranks won't start code 300 302 304 306

The code 300 is a Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire....a 302 is Cylinder # 2 misfire detected. ..and the same for 304 and 306..being 304 is cylinder 4 misfire and 306 is cylinder 6 misfire...All these at the same time normally is a faulty coil pack..,and or faulty coils...spark plugs.,plug wires.....It should be running horribly or barely ....However it could be internal losing compression.....It could just need a good tune up.....Disconnect battery before changing coils,wires..,or plugs in order to clear the fault codes.....

Code p0316

Code 316 is an extension of your Code 304. 316 means its misfiring in the first 1000 RPM's and 304 means number 4 cylinder is the problem cylinder.
Could be a bad wire, coil, or sparkplug.

Had a miss so I changed my wires now it will barley run I need to know the order so I can see if I got them mixed up . It's a 79 304

Standing in front of the engine the cylinders are positioned as:

FIREWALL

8 7
6 5
4 3
2 1

RADIATOR

The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

this is for a 1979= 304 engine, the rotor in dist. turns clockwise, #1 cylinder on cap is facing towards the front of engine. have a good day !!

if you are certain that the wires have been replaced correctly then you could have a bad set of wires even though they are new this happens sometimes but it sounds as if the firing order is off check the engines timing to see if its still in time.
