I don't get water in the back mine is all in the front of the car on the floor boards. I have had the windsheild checked and nothing wrong. It seems to get that way only in the winter time. I have looked all over and I can not find anything wrong. But I do know both sides are getting really wet. Any Ideas?

Welcome to Fixya! You need to replace the Rubber that is around the Back Doors on the Inside. They do have a Drip hole in them that sometimes could get clogged, But, Not usually the Problem. The Seals themselves are the Problem. You will have to get these from the Parts Desk at the Dealership or Online.

Take some weather stripping and put around on the seals to make sure they are tight its a cheap fix but it will stop the water getting in the vehicle

it could be clogged with a sock or something small like that the only way to find out is to get to the pump and check it to see whats in it

Sounds like the door gasket or trunk gasket is not sealing.
You may have to take it to a body shop to find the problem.

With heavy rains the carpet on my passenger side front is soaked

SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A LEAK COMING FROM SOMEWHERE! COULD BE A SOFT PLUG ON THE FIREWALL UNDER THE HOOD! IF IT IS REMOVED, WATER WILL ENTER THE CAB THERE! OR POSSSIBLY UNDER THE CAR ON PASSENGER SIDE! IF IT IS UNDERNEATH, THE TRIM, AND CARPET WILL HAVE TO BE RAISED TO REPLACE THE PLUG FROM UNDER THE CARPET!

My floor boards in my Cavalier are Soaked ..

If you've been using your air conditioner during this time, and it hasn't rained at all, then the small drain at the bottom of the a/c evaporator core may be plugged. When you use the a/c to cool the car the evaporator coil [located next to the heater core in the ductwork under the dash] is very cold and moisture from the hot humid air condenses on it as a result. This condensation dribbles down the core and accumulates in the plastic housing under it where it should then drain out a small hole and drip onto the ground. If the small drain gets plugged, which happens quite often, then the water fills up the housing until it overflows and then runs out and soaks the carpet on the front passenger side. The drain is located on the engine side of the firewall, passenger side, down low where the firewall begins to curve under. Usually a puff of air will clear the clog and the drain will work fine again. If the carpet is really wet it would be a good idea to remove it and get everything dry again as it tends to get pretty smelly if left wet. One last note: usually a leaky a/c unit will only make the passenger side carpet wet unless it's been leaking for a long time while a leaky windshield seal can make both sides wet depending on where it is leaking. Good luck, hope this helps you out!

Water on floor board of Jeep Liberty

It is most likely coming from a dried up or improperly installed window seal at the bottom of the windshield (under the wiper trim)

Take the trim off and caulk yourself - or have the entire seal replaced.
