SOURCE: Hi i got a nissan interstar diesel 2007 mod when i

To me like some loose electrical connection is resposible for this problem. Check the battery terminals for tightness and the fuses to internal heater. There might be a halfblown fuse or loose connection which is insufficient to make it possible to start the engine, but once in motion the vibration of the var provides enough to keep the connection going to start the engine because after having started the engine, it has no active role to play until you swictch off the engine. On starting time its required. So check sor the loose connection to the heater and the compressor, both of which comes into play in starting the engine...sodeep

2003-10 (transated)
Analogous to the revision of the Renault Master II / Opel Movano I also received the Interstar 2003 a revision of the body, engines and interior. Since then, an automated manual transmission (Interstar X70) was for the revised model now available and optional ESP (vehicle dynamics control) available. Also belonged from now a Brake Assist besides the previously installed anti-lock braking system standard on all models. Since then, the Interstar has been delivered as a minibus with up to 16 seats. 2010, the Interstar was replaced by the Nissan NV400.

NO START.
but to start any DIESEL engine,
IT MUST Crank first. does it?
if NOT, the the battery is dead, or bad. (or discharged)
DOes jumper cables used, (donor car) crank engine now?
if it DOES, crank, and robustly, then Id bet the glow plugs are bad.
if not glow plugs, lack of FUEL , ever change the filters per schedule>?

Hi , have just replaced some diesel via a can in my Peugeot 206. I cannot start car now (previous fuel had been completely drained.) Can you help?

You might have air in the system.Loosen the 1st injector on the engine block a bit so that air in the system can escape from the top where it comes from the pump in a metal tube..Do not remove completly.Crank the engine untill diesel comes out and it should start.Re tighten.

My 1993 nissan terrano,4x4 turbo diesel, isnt bringing fuel up to the injectors after i replaced the diesel filter.does anybody have a solution for this please

Did you follow these procedures?

  1. Release the fuel pressure from the fuel line as follows:
    1. Remove the fuel pump fuse at the fuse box.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. After the engine stalls, crank the engine two or three times to make sure that the fuel pressure is released.
    4. Turn the ignition switch OFF and reinstall the fuel pump fuse.
  2. Loosen the hose clamps at the fuel inlet and outlet lines. Wrap a shop towel or absorbent rag around the filter, then slide each line off the filter nipples.
  3. Remove the fuel filter and old hose clamps.

To install:

  1. Place new hose clamps on the fuel inlet and outlet lines.
  2. Connect the fuel filter, being careful to observe the correct direction of flow, then tighten the hose clamps.
  3. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Always use a high pressure-type fuel filter assembly. Do not use a synthetic resinous fuel filter

How can i remove and install a blown head gasket the right way, from a nissan sentra 1.8 (QG18DE)? please help.

You should get a service (shop) manual which describes this procedure. (You may be able to borrow one from your local public library, but I think they are worth buying).
If this is an overhead cam (cam-in-head) engine, you will need to turn the engine until the timing marks on the cam and crank line up, so that you can put it back together correctly.
You will also need the head bolt tightening (torque) sequence, the bolts have to be tightened in a certain order to the correct torque value.
You might want to replace the water pump at the same time, as you will be taking off everything (and more) that you would have to take off to replace it, and unless you have done that recently, it is about due anyway.
This is MAJOR engine work, unless you have done a fair bit of repairs before, you might not want to attempt this yourself.

I need to replace the crank sensor on my 96 dodge with 5.9 cummins engine it i can not find it

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 5.9L diesel engine is located (1) below the fuel injection pump. It is bolted to the back of the timing gear housing (7).

1. Disconnect electrical connector at CMP sensor.
2. Remove sensor mounting bolt (6).
3. Carefully twist sensor from timing gear housing.
4. Check condition of sensor O-ring.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean out machined hole in back of timing gear housing (cover).
2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to sensor O-ring.
3. Install sensor into timing gear housing (cover) with a slight rocking action. Do not twist sensor into position as damage to O-ring may result. CAUTION: Before tightening sensor mounting bolt, be sure sensor is completely flush to back of timing gear housing (cover). If sensor is not flush, damage to sensor mounting tang may result.
4. Install mounting bolt and tighten. Refer to Torque Specifications.
5. Connect electrical connector to sensor.
