Question about 2004 Cadillac SRX

1 Answer

Gas gauge, temperature gauge don't work; TC light won't turn off;

We cannot remove the key from the car or turn it off completely. The gas and temperature gauges do not work. The traction control light is on and the switch doesn't turn it off.

There is usually a button on bottom of the steering column to push to take the key out of the ignition. it should allow you to turn the key to the lock position

I have a 2007 cadillac cts and the check antI theft system light is on car will start no gages working key will not come out. What could be causing this problem.

The key stuck in the ignition is either a bad lock cylinder or more than likely a bad ECM. I have the same problem but replaced the lock cylinder and new key, that changed nothing. If your Anti Theft light is on and traction control, no gas gauge nor temp gauge, ECM. More and more will quit working or go crazy in time until there is no power anywhere

2011 chevy impala traction control

There are a few reasons this might happen. Believe it or not it could be as simple as a loose gas cap. That can cause a false reading in the throttle position sensor, and activate the traction control. Remove the gas cap and put it back on making sure to tighten it until it "clicks". Another reason may be a faulty throttle position sensor, or it has a glitch, thus activating thr traction control. Try the "Old Fashioned" fix of disconnecting the battery for about an hour, to reset the computer. After you reconnect it, turn the key to the ON position but don't start it. Slowly press the accellerator to the floor and release. Turn the key back off, wait a few seconds then start the car. This should take care of the glitch, if not it's most likely the throttle position sensor needs to be replaced.

Temperature & gas gauge stopped working

The gauges get their ground from two different sources, but share the same source for power.
I would check the back of the instrument cluster for problems in the wiring or connection.

Mazda 6 abs light on, temperature gauge goes up, hard shifting ATX

Sounds like more than one problem.
The ABS light is on to tell you the abs system is disabled due to a problem. Same goes for the traction control which could be related to the abs system problem. Both systems have to work together.
The temp gauge issue could be a faulty thermostat or the cooling system could be low on anti-freeze.
The shifting problem could be related to either system.

try unhooking you're positive battery cable wile the car is running then turn ignition off and put positive cable back on. if the problem is electrical this should reset it. could also be a fuse or a splayed wire.
