Question about 2001 Jaguar S-Type

Driving down road there is a roaring sound even when you slow down. Appears to be tire noise. Tires are wearing out on the inside. When you hit a bump there is a clunking sound underneath.

Sounds like you have some bad bushings, ball joints, or bearings. Take it into the repair shop unless you have the special tools to repair a Jag front suspension. The parts falling off my Jag are of the finest British make!!

Why am I hearing a roaring sound in my 2007 Lexus 350?


I am thinking that the noise is from a failed wheel bearing or possible cv joint failure
find yourself another service dealer as tire noise is either there or not there and rotation (if it is a faulty tyie ) would move to the new position
Here is a clue to consider
rotating tires is a ploy by the tire dealers to sell tires
have a wheel alignment done on the rear first and then the front and leave the tires alone
if it is a front wheel drive vehicle you will get 3 times the mileage out of the rear tires compared to the front drive tires and that is a big saving for you
next point -- radial tires continue to wear in the same pattern regardless of where they are put so how are you to know it it is a faulty tire construction or a need for a wheel alignment
third point --- many brands of tires are made as directional tires ( a directional arrow on the side wall) and cannot be rotated because they cannot be fitted on a wheel that rotates against the arrow
if they are the wear in pattern of the belts in the rubber is altered and may lead to tire failure ---the tread pattern is designed to remove maximum water and produce maximum grip in the direction of the arrow

Used tires sometimes are used for a reason. Also make sure your brakes are releasing completely (especially the emergency brake)...sometimes over-tightening wheels on to the disc brakes can cause excessive noise.

Front end roaring noise, tires?


If it is the tires, the noise will change on different road surfaces. If it doesn't, then you have a bad bearing.

Excessive tire wear, 29000 miles. Tires are cuping out and roaring. Tire dealer (Goodyear) said it was alignment. The truck always drove perfect.but I had it aligned anyway and noise is unbearable! 2008...


I am not sure I can help you much, I have bought, sold, used and abused tires all my life so I will try to help... First if you bought big aggressive tires that look cool, don't expect them not to make noise. Second, if you have ever run them underinflated and the cupping and adverse wear has started the only thing that may help reduce but not eliminate noise it is tire rotation.... Third aggressive tread is always noisy... And gets noisier with age. You have already aligned the truck, that is a step in the right direction. Keep tires properly inflated and rotate them often to square tread back up. Once cupping is minimised noise should go down. Just so you know I have learned about tire through a lot of personal experience. Don't by an aggressive tread if 98% of the time you or on the highway for the once or twice you may go off road... It's not worth it...

Whinning noise when drive.


Maybe you have a bad wheel bearing. You could jack up the wheels one by one and turn them to listen. Or you could put the rear wheels on jackstands and put the truck in drive so you could listen for noise in the differential or drive train. The bit about cornering makes it sound more like an individual wheel though.

My 2004 saturn vue redline makes a roarong noise


we have a 2003 saturn vue which we installed new tires on and we noticed a noise about 6 months afterwards. it sounded to my wife and i to be loud road noise from the tires. the car was driven for 6 months and we decided the noise was annoing. had the tires checked only to find it was the left front wheel bearing which was replaced and stopped the noise.

Sounds like its either your "camber angle" or your tires aren't balanced correctly
