1989 Pathfinder does not start, no gas, no spark.

Initially transmition would not change from third to forth gear. Took it to a mechanic and he said the computer needed repair.took the comp to a repair shop and exchanged it for a rebuilted one. Now the car crank but would not start. No gas or current going in.

Sence the problem started in the trans that makes me think that its your park/neutral safety swith which would do exactly what your saying. if a auto the switch should be on the shifter or posably part of the P.R.N.D.L (park revirse neutral drive)switch on the trans .if manual its usually on the side of the trans mission. good luck i hope i helped
