1995 buick park avenue

I have to replace the tensioner, I have a replacement but can't see how to pull the old one off. There is a hole in the middle of the new one which I assume is where a bolt would go through but in looking at the existing tensioner I can't see a bolt

thanks but there is nothing on the back - only spot for a bolt is in the front. I got another response that suggests the tensionor is pressed into the mounting bracket which may have to come off an be replaced as well................

Look on the back side of the tensioner some have a stud that will have a nut on the back if all elese fails look at the new part and see if it has a stud or a bolt that holds it on.

Is there an adjustable pulley on the 1996 Buick Park Avenue that lets you replace the belt?

Hello... Yes there is an adjustable pulley.... It is called a belt tensioner. You can find it, with the engine off, pull up on each pulley. The one that moves the most is the tensioner...

To release the tension on the belt, a special tool or a 3/8 or 3/4 in rachet is used...

Once the tension is released, the belt is easily removed and installed.

Good Luck....

Replacing motor mount

Put the car on ramps. Using a floor or scissor jack and a block of wood, find aa appropiate safe place to jack up the motor to relieve the tension on the motor mount you wish to replace. Remove the old mount and replace with a new one.

1995 Buick Climate Controls Going Crazy

Same thing happened with my 95 park avenue a few weeks ago. I talked to a guy I know who is a GM mechanic and he says that the module (the thing on the dash with all the buttons and the temperature display) is broken and needed to be replaced. These computer modules just get funny with age and eventually have to be replaced. You can find one pretty easy on ebay motors. It's not hard to replace, you just have to take apart the dash and take out the old module and put the new one in. Hope this helps!

How do you put a car belt on

There is a spring loaded tensioner pulley that you usually put a 1/2" ratchet in a hole to pull and release the tension but as you pull you must slip the belt off one of the pulleys.Reverse for install. If the belt goes around a motor mount you must support the engine(block of wood and floor jack) and remove the motor mount.

Good luck!

Serpentine belt replacement.

Locate the automatic belt tensioner, it should have a black plastic pulley on it. Insert a 1/2 inch breaker bar in the hole thats on the tensioner, and pull to relieve the tension on the belt. Slip old belt off the pulley and slowly release the force you have on the bar untill it stops moving. Route new belt, and move tensioner with bar to gain needed slack to get the belt on, Release tension, and remove bar. makeing sure new belt is in alignment.
Be careful...watch for pinch points, around your fingers and hands when performing this job.
Also, check the pulleys and idlers for wear before installing the new belt. They will wobble if the bearings are worn and should be replaced.
Good luck, hope this helps.
