SOURCE: fuel consumption of my mistubishi galant ss 1990

Make sure the air filter is clean, make sure the oxygen sensor is ok but would have to suspect its carboned up due to vehicle age ,if not working properly it tells the engine to run richer than normal. Also make sure the plugs and spark plug leads are in good condition. It wouldnt hurt to put a bottle of injector cleaner in the fuel tank next service as dirty injectors will also add to fuel use.A few small things to do or check but worth it by the sound it.

2011 hyundai sonata 2000km excessive fuel consumption

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have an engine tune up. You may need to replace the spark plugs for if it has a big gap, corroded, full of carbon or faulty it will have poor fuel burning, which can consume much.

New spark plugs can result to better fuel burning.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I currently own a Hyundai Tuscon 2.7 V6, which is averaging 14MPG and does not seem to waver from this consumption, regardless of driving conditions; in addition, the car keeps stalling, even when running...

get it put onto a diagnostic computer and it will tell you all.....
as far as fuel consumption is concerned,go online to a website called "superchips"they are wonderfull.

High fuel consumption. only 200 miles per tank

it has gotta be the o2 sensor, map sensor, or the mass air flow meter.............. these are the main inputs to the computer that controls the fuel control....let me know how that works out please
