SOURCE: 2006 Ford Explorer XLT the Blower Fan only works on 4 and 3 Sp

Look under the dash on passenger side and just to the left of the blower motor housing you will see the 4WD control module.Remove the 2 screws holding the module and let it hang down and your resistors are behind this.Remove the 2 screws holding the resistors and remove.
Now I am assuming you have manual climate control and not electonic.

Replaced the blower motor resistor on my 2005 Ford Freestyle. It now works on all speeds but high

high speed is a circuit without any resistors so it will be straight 12 volts
check the wiring connections to the resistor block or wiring to or the blower switch

Do you manual or automatic heating control ? manual has resistor ,automatic has blower motor speed controller ! You did not need to pull glove box. You have to pull the lower panel under glove box .
  1. Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator.
  1. Disconnect the blower motor speed control electrical connector.
  1. Remove the 2 blower motor speed control screws.
  1. Remove the blower motor speed control.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Where is the blower motor resistor located?

It is under the dash accessed behind the glove compartment. If I recall, there is a screw securing it and a plug attaching it to the wiring harness.
Gain access by pushing in the sides of the glove compartment that allows the door to lower out of the way.

Blower only works on high. blower motor resistor i think is bad. where is it located? is it easy to replace?

Most of them are located on the blower housing. Single plug. Unplug it and use a test light to locate your hot (key on). Use a jumper wire to go from it to different posts in plug, you fan speed should change if it's bad.

Cooling fans run continously, no a/c,

by the blower moter always being on i would think it would be the blower motor resistor, this controls fan speed and is located under the dash in the blower case easy to replace.
