Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Hi all, Here are my electrical issues with my blazer. The cruise control turns off if you roll down the windows, if you switch the headlights from bright to dim, once in awhile, all of the lights on the dashboard will light. Random lighting up of the ABS light on the dash. Flickering of headlights when stepping on the brakes, and everytime we shut the car off, the radio clock resets itself back to 12:00.
Strange electrical problems can sometimes be attributed to a bad ignition switch. The battery should also be load tested, especially if it is more than 4 - 5 years old.

I think your BCM which is the body control module has failed, have a self test run on it to see if it will give any codes, if it won't test then it is the problem.

There isn't one. This car has a "brake and throttle by wire" system and the brake light switch is inside of that. You have a bad brake position sensor. Figure $240 or so at a dealer.

Take + terminal off the battery and leave it sit for 2-3 mins. This act's like a reset-to default factory settings...I had same problem on my 97 Z28, endeded up being the negative terminal to the battery was just slighly loose. I noticed it while disconnecting the the battery to reset my ob-cpu...Try this and let me know if it worked... i should!

Start by setting your auto headlight switch to off if this solves it replace your headlight switch If your car is equipped with daytime running lights there could be a short bridging them with your auto head lights look for broken or frayed wires do this also if you have installed or had someone install an aftermarket stereo or speakers/sub woofer, amplifier. Good Luck with this
