SOURCE: no brake lights

If all three lights are out I'm pretty sure it is the fuse that is blown. Open the fuse box and there will be a diagram of which fuse controls the brake lights. When you locate the fuse pull it straight out. If it is bad you will see a gap in the conductor. You can get replacement fuses at any parts store or even Walmart. Just get one with the same rating - probably 15 amp.

SOURCE: Brake lights stopped working. Running lights ok,

I solved this problem on a similar Camry by tracing the wiring to an intermittent open circuit at the flex point near the left trunk hinge. where the bundle moves with the opening and closing of the trunk lid.
Carefully cut the bundle wrapping and check the wires. Splice in reparis for any damaged wires and carefully route and re-wrap the bundle.

SOURCE: ford focus brake light failure !!!

1 - are you SURE theyre the right bulbs! - if theyre too bright they can blow the fuse, if theyre the wrong type of bulb they will blow the fuse.. best get the bulbs direct from ford, they are always in stock, so are the proper fuses.
2 - theres a center brakelight isnt there? check this bulb too for proper wattage and size/shape
Other than that maybe the wiring in the boot is damaged and shorting?? -----
Leave feedback good or bad.

1997 nissan pathfinder le 3.3l - Brake lights won't turn off - replaced stop switch and relay combo already. any ideas?

The brake switch will stop all current to the brake lights. As soon as the brake pedal moves just off of its fully up position, the switch makes contact and passes current on to the brake lights. You can operate it by hand to check if everything is right. izzit adjustable? The switch is the last thing in the path to the brake bulbs, so it has to work right, right off the brake pedal!

Mr. Williams since you tried with fuse, bulbs and brake light switch with no success, why you do not try to check your circuit by using a tester and see whether you have any broken wire or bad earth?

Check your fuses, if all ok then the switch on your brake pedal is at fault, Look at the top of the brake pedal and you will see the location of the switch.

The brake lights won't go out. I pulled the fuse so the battery doesn't go dead, but can't figure out why they are staying lit.

on your brake pedal there is a switch that controls your brake lights over time it comes to lose just enough for the switch won't come in contact with the pedal

Have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that is getting stuck in Park and I have to press the shift lock release to put in D everytime

No, that's wrong. The setup on the Sonata doesn't normally require messing with the shift lock release at all. I had the same problem tonight for the first time after owning the car for a year and a half, that's why I looked up this issue.
