I have a mazda tribute 05.It started to **** while drive expecially while driving above 50km/hr.I took it dealer to scan for its problem and i was told that i need to change the 6 ignition coils and P

Do yo now what the code was . that sounds like to much. I can see 1 or 2 coils going bad but not all 6 and if all 6 coils were bad the car would nort run

    i want to know if i need to reprogramme the PCM before it can work or does disconnecting PCM and putting it back has any effect on the car?

    yes it does need to be reprogrammed . once you unplugged it you knocked out the program

I've only got a small portion of your problem up to started back up with a???
I am guessing Catalytic Converter failure? if this collapses or blocks up it restricts the exhaust gasses causing far too much back pressure sometimes resulting in backfiring and really poor performance.

it is very poss the transmission case connector is making a poor connection, remove the connector from outside the trans and see if it has any corrosion or loose pins, if problem persists replace the trans solenoid shift pack.

i looked on alldat and there is nothing there on lettered coils just numbered! sorry but if i had that issue come into the shop and the custom said what you said i would assume that it was number 1 also and say if i didn't have a scanner and had to figure it out (blind) i would start at the number 1 coil and pull it out of the hole while it was running and while i was wearing thick rubber gloves and see if it made a diffence to the motor idling right. if not then that is the one but if it effected it then i would go to the next coil and do the same thing and so on. till i found the one that didn't cause the motor to mis fire or idle different or more. and change that one! hopefully that helps. best i can do over the computer at night with out the factory software in front of me.

I have a 2001 tribute I bought new and the oil drain plug stripped. My plug size is m12-175. I replaced it with a m12-175 one size over I bought from care quest for $3.89. Worked great. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: i have replaced all 6 coils and plugs and the

start by disconnecting power to each cylinder, one at a time until you find the cylinder that does not affect the idle speed. This will be the dead cylinder. If you have spark to this cylinder, impulse to the fuel injector plug and compression is good then replace the fuel injector for the dead cylinder. Normally your check engine light will be on if you have a misfire. by reading the codes you will know which cylinder is at fault.

I have a 2005 Mazda tribute and while driving the transmission shifts from drive to 1st, then 2nd, then drive and it will do this off and on the entire time I am driving. The fluid looks clean.

Could be low fuel pressure, bad mass airflow sensor, bad plug wire, a number of possibilities. Please dont fault the mechanic, you can't fix it unless it's exhibiting the problem while the mechanic is driving it. Thats good cause some mechanics would just take a guess, and start throwing parts, and your money at it. Broken cars are kinda like tooth aches, they quit hurting when you get to the dentist office.

Changed thermostat,relay,tophose everything,radiator switch,.still the engine gets heated if we run the car above 50km/hr speed.It is normal when we drive inside 50km/hr.Radiator fan also not rotating.wht...

Sounds like your fan belt is glazed or loose. At higher speeds the belt slips over waterpump and doesn't drive pump fast enough to circulate coolant. That would be first thing I would check...
Other possibilities: waterpump, blocked heater core, fan clutch.

My tribute started making a clicking/rattling noise near the belt that has gotten louder within a day. It is not the oil. Would you have an idea of what it could be?

Drive belt needed to be replaced on mine... Mazda dealership told me that the manufacturer knows that the drive belt is not strong enough... when I ran the air conditioner it was horrible sounding!!! It took the dealership repair 2 days to figure it out!
