How do we install the 02 sensors in the 1999 kia sportage?

when you find the O2 sensor that you are replacing disconnect the electrical plug then using a 7/8" wrench placed around the sensor base turn the sensor counter clockwise looking at it from the top of the sensor. sometimes you have to heat the exhaust pipe around the sensor were it threads in this will help loosen the sensor. keep in mind that sometimes the threads are pulled out/stripped and you will have to run a cleaning tap to clean the threads and you install the sensor in the same place.

91 Sierra 1500 5.7 l. starts and runs fine, but starts cutting out badly after warming up out on the road. It will sit idling 15 + minutes before it starts to skip a little.

you can try to clean out the 02 sensors I had a problem like this in a 05 saturn. The 02 sensor that I cleaned was located towards the front of the engine behind the fan right in the middle of the car. the sensor was all powdery and black, i would brush it off with a wire brush that worked for me and then I learned of the ethanol in gas so I got ethanol free gas, used for boats and I never had that problem again. and never had to replace the 02 sensor.

03 trailblazer 4.2 l code p0172 has no power

P0172 02 sensor is detecting that the system is running too rich. An 02 sensor that is starting to go out will pull this code, but the following will cause the 02 sensor to throw this code as well:

A few things to look at. 1st thing I'd do is clean your throttle body with the battery disconnected. Use sensor safe throttle body cleaner, about $4.

From there, I'd look at your upstream 02 sensor, located on the exhaust manifold on passenger side of engine, very easy. Try and stay away from Bosch if possible.

New fuel filter, clean or replace your MAF sensor located on top of engine next to firewall. Also, probably time to change your spark plugs. I recommend A/C Delco 41-103, will idle better than other brands.

My 97 ford f150 is loafing an when i put on a diagnostics test its reading out 02 sensors an i change all four and i also change the massive airflow sensor, and i also had the fuel system cleaned and its...

If it's still reading 02 sensors and you replaced them AND assuming you cleared codes I suspect bad cat, converters, The 02 sensors when everything is operating properly, the front 02 sensors read different from rear ones - if they read the same, you get code/light. Plus with your description sounds like bad converter(s)

Code comes up as p 551 an p 420

i would replace the power steering pressure switch for the code p551. as far as the p0420 this is a rare code and indicates an 02 sensor out of range.. the second 02 sensor could be fouled up.. remove it and clean it also perform intake cleaning with carb cleaner...if still exist next try replacing second 02 sensor

Check engine light stays on

You can try to clean them with carb cleaner and a tooth brush but if it has a heated 02 sensor most likely the heater is burned out and will need to be replaced, it would be the one before the catalytic converter. Sometimes the 02 sensor gets slow and will not read fast enough if that’s the case then the piezoelectric coating is malfunctioning so again you have to replace the 02 sensor, they refer this as a lazy 02 sensor, it does not cycle fast enough.

I have 2004 GMC ENVOY XL the engine light stay on. i do a diagnostic on it the code i get is P1133 HO25/025 INSUFFICIENT SWITCHING SENSOR 1 OR BANK 1 SENSOR 1. also code PO133 02 CIRCUIT SLOW RESPONSE(BANK...

P1133 is a slow 02 sensor or a shorted to ground at the PCM to 02 sensor signal. If the 02 sensor does not cycle fast enought it is called a lazy 02 sensor, the only way to test for this is with a digital volt meter or a scanner. if it will not pulse fast enough it will throw the code so Replace the 02 senor on the driver side bank. Bank one. then clear the codes. The code is thrown do to seveal reasons the 02 sensor could be dirty or it just could be worn out, you could pull it and clean it and try it again or just replace it and be done with it. The cost of a heated 02 sensor is $50.00 at a auto parts store or the dealer might charge a little higher but the cost in savings of fuel is well worth it.
