Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Instruments on panel also malfunction randomly; however, I need to disable chime ASAP, because it is unbearable to drive with the dinging of the chime coming and going at random.

sounds like on of the door ajar switchs is defective, it stops when u brake because the body flexs enough to turn the switch off.

SOURCE: Door chime stays on
The door ajar switch on the side of the dash needs to hit the door panel to shut off the chime and dome light.Pull the switch from the dash and unplug it.

Unfortunately if you take this to a shop they can get into alot of trouble doing this for you. Some are controlled by the body control module and others are just simple circuits. Look at you seat belt female end and look for a harness that goes to it. If it's just 2 wires connect those two wires together to trick the system! You should always wear your seatbelt by the way.
