Oil leak

If its a twin cam engine just replace both of them. They are cheap enough and if you buy locally you whould be able to return the one you don't need.

Personally I would replace both so you don't have to worry about it in the future.

Toyota pickup antifreeze leak around timing belt cover

You won't really know until you can see the bottom of the pump. Most pumps have a "weep" hole where coolant will leak from if the seal goes bad. It can leak and still function without symptoms until the bearing goes.

Water is leaking from a small hole on top of the water pump 94 lincoln continental

You have to have a new pump installed

To do yourself you need some auto repair
experience & you should see & get to it, if
you are willing to remove a few things in the way

I would say 99% of all people coming to a web site
aren't into working on their own cars & in that case
a water pump on your car isn't all that bad or expensive
I suppose, compared to some vehicles with a pump behind
a timing belt & day days worth of work to get to it

The seals in the water pump are going bad. It is probably coming out the weep hole on the waterpump. Get a good one or yoy will be doing it again next year.

The timing belt broke on my 2000 nissan quest gxe minivan. I was told i need to 1st change the timing belt then do a compression check. The i was told by another mechanic i need to do a LEAK DOWN TEST....

the first thing to do is to replace the timing belt and water pump and timing belt components(the water pump is driven by the timing belt). the chassis has nothing to do with the engine, it is a NISSAN engine that is used in the MERCURY villager that's why FORD is on the chassis. it is however a CLOSE TOLERANCE engine, but very resiliant. the reason for the compression or leak down test is to make sure the valves are not warped and the heads are not damaged. the engine still has to be "timed" correctly or it will not pass a leak down test or compression test. in most cases, unless the engine RPM's were very high(like when you're passing someone)when the belt broke, the valves in these engines do not warp or the heads get damaged. you sound very confused about the situation, so make a few calls to some other shops and get some more prices and recommendations to see which way to go.GOOD LUCK!!!

Check coolant levels first, look for any leaks from hoses (make sure your connections are tight & hoses are not cracked/busted), check for leaks from the radiator itself (any holes or cracks), check the fan (is it turning like it should with the motor running), check the fan belt (is it broken). If all these things check out - get your water pump checked (if it's out, water is not getting to/circulating around like it should). If it's not the water pump, you may have a cracked head gasket. Check the easy stuff first though - good luck.

How can i tell if my waterpump is bad? shut the car off and came out later to anti freeze in the driveway

If it's leaking that bad, open the hood take off radiator cap and fill with water (without making a mess and spilling a bunch. Then simply watch for where the leak is at, if it's leaking from a hose, the radiator, or from around the area where the belt is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. If it's leaking from the passenger side around the belt area your water pump is the most common cause. They are made so when the bearing wears out around the shaft the pulley bolts, it has what are called weep holes and the water just runs out to tell you to replace the water pump.

Wont hold water. big hose on the bottom of the radiator attaches 2 the engine and it leaks right out of the engine underneath that hose...

Well, if that Radiator hose is not leaking, then the Water pump seals have gone bad. More than likely you need a new water pump.

Vehicles w/ Timing Belt Driven Water Pumps Should Always Have The Water Pump Replaced When The Timing Belt Is Replaced.

If you do not, then the Timing Belt will fail, turning a low cost repair into thousands because of valve train damages. . .

For the Timing Belt & Water Pump KIT - its around $258 through NAPA

Water leak

Unless there is any visible wear to the timing belt itself there is no reason to have to change the belt as well as the water pump.
