SOURCE: cruise control on 99 taurus

check your on and off button at the steering wheel.
use a multi-meter set in the ohm postion and see if there is conectivity as you push each button. you will have to take the button off the steering wheel but it will take
just a few minites. while your at it you can check the right side also.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and the cruise-control doesn't work.

an easy answer would be a vacuum line with a hole but with this late model and the fact its a ford i would think electrical problem. ford likes to use relays in all its electrical apps. if not the switch itself maybe a relay. the problem is finding which one. i go down to the auto parts and see if i can find info on the relays i can see or take it to a shop u can trust and have it diagnosed

SOURCE: cruise control doesnt wok

any fluctuation on the speedometer ? could be the speed servo senser. Servo is located usually on the drivers side strut tower. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2003 Windstar cruise control won't

That sounds a lil dangerous. You should be able to shut it off by tapping the brake pedal. Ford has recalls on some of these controllers. You may be able to contact the dealer for a free repair if the vehicle is still on the recall list.

2000 ford windstar has a bad stumble when idling like it's missing accelerates fine when reaches cursing speed acks like it's missing also my cruise control stoped working

If your Windstar has the 3.8 liter engine, you are due for head gasket replacement. Just had mine done. The cruise control failure could be due to an open fuse or speed sensor failure.

Fuses are a great place to start, if not fuses the actual cruise control switch may be to fault. Rear heater do you get heat out the front and if so is there a fuse for a rear fan maybe a blower.. Let me know

How to install a cruise control

I have had the same scenario. In addition, the speedometer did not work, the overdrive was intermittent, the brake light was illuminated, and the cruise control did not function. This was found to caused by an all too common defect in the Windstar. The brake master cylinder leaks out of the area where the brake switch screws into it from the bottom. The switch has control wiring going to it which feeds various other systems. Ford makes a "Brake Repair" package to solve all of this. It only costs $ 20.00. It comes with a new switch and a wiring pigtail adapter. Simply remove the air filter to get at the master cylinder and remove the old brake switch. I would clean the associated wiring with alcohol (on a cool engine) and allow it to dry and then re-tape and/or heat shrink tubing over the wiring for future protection. Install the new switch and adapter pigtail along with another 10a fuse in the driver's side fuse panel and you are all set....... much less than Ford would charge!

this was for my 2000 windstar it might just be your fuse i would start there

IMy problem is when Iuse my remote command start

There are fail safe's with remote starters here is the list of things to check

Hood Switch: Designed so the car wont start with the remote if your hood is opened. (If this goes bad your remote start will think the hood is open and wont start your car!)

Break Switch: It will shut the car off if someone pushes on the break without a key in the ignition so no one just drives off with your car.(if this is bad it could be reading that your brake peddle is being pushed without a key in the ignition)

And Finally The Time Out.: This is designed so if you start your car and forget about it, you dont use all your gas or let the car run all day, typically they shut off after 20 minutes.(Your timer is programed into the main control box, If your timer goes bad it can cause the whole remote system to fault.

Anyway hope this helps. Check your switches before you presume that the unit is shot!

The "door is locked" switch mechanism in the driver's door is not engaging when the door is closed. It is inside the door panel and right on the latch. It closes a circuot when the door is latched.

I was able to tighten the mounting on mine with some twist-wire and been right as rain for 3, 4 years now
