Question about 2000 Chevrolet Lumina

My car won't start all of a sudden.

My 1990 chevy lumina won't start all of a sudden. It cranks over and over but won't start even with a jump.

    I don't know what the fuse for the ecm is . I'm a car illiterate female but catch on quick if you can tell me where to look for the problem.Thanks, Angie

Could be a fuel problem, spark, check the fuses to the ECM :)

Most likely the starter, does it seem to drag when starting? Other things could be the coil or ignition module.

No. You should have spark when cranking. You are checking for spark at the end of one of the wires?

check your battery terminals, cables and make sure there is good contacts and no corrosion at any place on the battery cables

No, cehcek that the terminals aren't corroided.
Maybe even remove them and clean them up.
Then try jump start.

1999 chevy lumina with a new battery that will not turn over. AAA can jump it and it will start and run for ever until it is turned off then it will not start again. Jumping it from another car usually...


because aaa can jump start it and you can't sounds like maybe the battery cables are curroided (dirty)
in-between the battery post and the clamps, clean the battery terminals and charge your battery as a loose conection can run down even a new battery

heres a quick test you can do start the car and with it running take off the positive battery cable. let me know the results.
