i have the same exact problem sometimes my power steering pump was leaking on the starter and it caused the positive wire on the starter to not even make a noise i have to rap on the starter a couple times before it will start
If the battery is fine, why jump it? Faulty thinking to state or think: all electrical in the car work fine. If it did the starter motor would be turning the engine over. The starter motor work on electrical...not all is fine.
check: 1) 60a starter fuse/relay. 2) voltage to starter when turning key to activate starter motor, this will rule out ignition switch or relay. 3) apply direct voltage to starter motor to detect bad starter motor.
hi, the problem you are having sounds like the starter motor has packed up if when you turn the key you get nothing or you might even hear a faint click, if you open the bonnet then get someone to turn the key you might hear a faint click coming from the starter motor. This click indicates the starter motor needs replacing.
you could try hitting the starter motor with a hammer give it a few good hard hits this might get the starter motor working for a while if not then it needs replacing at once if it works then this isnt a permanent fix so be warned.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
First ensure your ground cable is grounded good. Take it off and clean grounding area and re-attach. If this still doesnt work then reconsider just buying a new set of battery cables. I had this problem and it ended up being a short in the positive cable. By just looking at the cables everything seemed may seem ok when it isnt. Good luck!!!!
if the battery is ok there could be one of two problems have you tried the spare key? it may be a problem with the immobiliser look at the red light near the time clock it should go out when atempting to start. second try tow starting or bump starting you may have a faulty starter motor do not try this to often or you could damage the cat. do you get any noises when trying to start such as a clicking ? this would indercate faulty solinode on starter hope this helps
