Yellow leak in the snow - same colour as brake fluid

Hi Julie, I don't know if you ever found a solution to your answer, but the same thing happened to me this year with my Toyota Camry. I ruled out transmission fluid and Toyota coolant because both are red. Oil is typically brownish to dark brown - depending on your oil change cycle. I ruled out anything from an animal, because it didn't have that type of odor. So, I did some research and came across an excellent Toyota forum web-site that sounds EXTREMELY reliable concerning this problem. (I also bounced this question off of my brother-in-law who lives in Maine and sure enough, he's seen the same problem under his vehicles. btw: I believe most people don't notice this issue because they typically get into their vehicle, start it and take off. It's a sight that goes unnoticed by most people. But, when you do notice - perhaps moving the car a little and getting out - it causes concern because you "think" your vehicle is leaking some fluid.) I'm quite sure this response will help many others!!! And, this problem is not limited to Toyota's either, although it may be more typical with older vehicles that have been subjected to time, weather, salt, etc:

Fluid leak

This could very well be your water pump. I know what your thinking " it couldnt be itsinthe middle but fluid takes the least path of resistance if your car is parked on a slope then you might have your cooling system checked

I have a red leak that appears to be dripping from the 2 lines that run near the housing of my 94 blazer. I noticed two separate drip trails parallel from each other, about a foot or so, when I backed up...

Yes it sounds like the tranny. Possible an easy fix though. There are two line that go from the tranny to the radiator or possibly a trans cooler. The connections may be lose. There is a cheap way to fix this and that is buying the brass barbed hose fittings that will screw into were the existing line go into the tranny and get transmission cooler hose and run new lines. Or replace it with original parts. I would like to say you are probably be fine to drive it as is just make sure to keep fluid level full. But if they come completely out or break lose you will be stuck and will lose all 7 to ten quarts of tranny fluid. Also when you check you tranny fluid it has to at operating temp and the engine running. Good luck hope this helps.

The car leaks oil only when engine runs, intermittently,a trail of oil yesterday as moved out of garage ,today nothing .looks to be comming from valve cover, which happens routinely with these engines but...

the oil could be leaking from valve cover and sitting in a bottom engine cover(plastic covers on bottom of car) and oil trail when move, will leak more when engine hot as oil gets thinner and easier to escape. Would replace gaskep asap or will cover engine in black sticky muck which is not nice to try and clean and engine oil is not the best thing to get off your garage floor.

It appears that a oil line ( rubber hose) that is apparently under pressure ruptured. Oil is all over the engine, with a significant spill on the ground under the front end, yet when I checked the oil...

What about the transmission lines, or the power steering hoses, I don't think much is going to stick to it, for about $35 you can get it towed

I found yellow fluid on snow under my 2003 sunfire.what could it be?

Either an animal has gotten under there(urine), or you have an antifreeze leak.

Leak after snow storm color yellow , tried to drive it today but sleping gear does not pass 40. it feels like im driving on neutral.

Probably there is a big leak in your trans lines, trans pan gasket or radiator trans cooling lines. trans fluid become yellow mix with snow or ice.

Brake fluid leaking alot and now noticed fluid from rear tires

if your car has rear drum then the wheel cylinders could be leaking and in need of replacement. If it has rear disc brakes then it could be leaking fluid where the brake hose goes into the caliper or the brake hose my be worn or have a hole in it. Or it could be a a brake line. You should have it checked because you don't want air getting into the braking system.
