Mine did the same thing on my S10 pick up.
I took the motor off, drilled out all the rivets, cleaned it made sure the brushes and commutator were OK, greased the drive and put it all back and no improvement. I bought a replacement motor from here: rockauto and they have been fine ever since.

Don't need the book on the truck. For starters, go to your local dealer parts department and they can print out the label of the fuse panel for your truck. The fuse in question will be wipers. The most likely cause of your problem isn't your wipers but the swicth itself. Depending on whether or not you have cruise control, you can buy one for less at an aftermarket cruise control company. Once you get it, we can go live chat to tell how to change it out cause it's trick but all you need is string and tape. Before you buy the new one, unplug yours at the bottom of the steering column and plug the new one in to see if it works. If you found this helpful please post as such. I f you go to the shop, please post this as fixya. TY

check the wiring from the tailights back to the fuse panel, it sounds like an open connection. if i recall correctly check under the dash on the drivers side near the fuse panel for a bunch of wires in a bundle and look carefully for a wire or two that are cut/shorted/or seperated, you can also check under the drivers side kick panel by the hood release.

I have an 05 Cobalt that just experienced the same problem. I had my door panels off and my speakers appear to be dead.
If you have a multimeter, you can pull the speaker out and test to see if you get resistance across the two terminals. It should say on the speaker what the resistance should be (most likely 4 ohms). If you get no reading, you most likely will have to replace the speaker.
You could also test for AC voltage on the speaker wires. When the stereo is on, and set to a reasonably loud value, you should get a few volts. If you don't get any reading at the door, it may be either the wiring or the stereo. To determine which it is, you will have to take readings at the stereo output.
Hope this helps.

There were some issues with ignition switches in those vehicles. It is easy to change and does not cost but about $30. Remove the column covers, unplug the switch, and depress the 2 white tabs holding it in place. Good Luck
