could be the thermostat if it was just stating to go bad, could also be a vacume problem not letting the door for the ac/heat close all the way for a few min.and if its really cold out like below 35,then its going to take longer to warm up,my jeep takes like around 20 min at idle to warm up.yours could be a case of over cooling in cold weather too ie(electric fans on before it warms up)that would be the thermostatic sensor.
under the glove department is a heater motor resistor you can look the part up on ebay , it located under the glove box ,, place in a cut out , you have to look carefully but it is there ...i beleave one screw holds it in ,, it a easy fix ... just swap the old part for the new ..
If you mean that the heater "fan" only works sometimes, there is heater blower resistor mounted to the heater motor, (behind the glove box) and if it goes bad, you normaly have high speed only. These are common to go bad, and not expensive.
sounds to me like your blower resistor is bad.it happened to a friend of mine, but his would only work on high.i replaced it for him and now all speeds work like new.hope this info helps.good luck and take care, manny
Your heater motor speed selector only working on a couple levels is caused by a faulting blower motor resistor. This part is located on the evaporator case next to the blower motor itself. Two bolts remove the resistor and an electrical pigtail finishes it off.The location of this is underneath the dash on the pass front side.Happy Holidays!!
It is the blower motor resistor. Look under the passanger side dash and locate the fan housing (looks round and black in color. Then locate the resistor it will be in that housing usually withtwo ten millimeter nuts or two simple screws holding it in. unplug the harness to the resistor and remove the resistor. Part store price is approx. 50.00. Note: on aftermarket (not Jeep) resistor sometimes you have to modify the housing a little to get it in. Hope this helps.
