I have a 1989 chevy camaro rs v6. I started my car put it in drive then stopped and tried to put it in park but it got stuck in neutral it will only shift to neutral and overdrive I can still start the car and move it in overdrive but can't put it in park or any other gear than neutral and overdrive I have an automatic trans. I don't no what it is please help.

that is a TSB you may have a bad valve body, olso this condition may turn malfunction ligth on, or if you remove the air intake pipe
on trans there is a conector that go to trans valve body some time come lose pluged back an reset PCM if don't fixed will be the trans valve body

When you experience this problem, check to see if your brake lights are coming on. It could be as simple as a brake light switch malfunction. If the brake lights are functioning as the problem is occurring then you could for example have a problem with the shift interlock solenoid.

The park shift lock needs adjustment. The solenoid that locks irt inplace maybe the cause of this

The shifter works off a shift cable which is connected to the transmission. The connection of this cable to the transmission is on the drivers side looking straight up were you can see it. The other end connects to the inner part of the shifting mechanisum where you shift
