2005 ?? and only 70k ,i dont think it needs changing yet till about 120k depending on your local ambient climate ,if in a hot dry area then 7 yrs old yes change but if in a more temperate climate then it will be good for at least till its 10 yrs old ,modern belts are far superior to older ones from the 90s ,Then entrust it to a mechanic because one slip up can ruin the engine ,i would not recomend this job to a weekend mechanic who needs to ask on here how to do it ,yes i can tell you and its not difficult but the consequences of making a mistake ??

yes, this is VERY IMPORTANT, this is an interference engine, meaning the valves and the piston cannot be in the same place at the same time,or it will bend the valves.then you are looking at a major repair job, think or it as insurance on your engine. please rate my fix as i strive to be the best, questions, get back to me

Does a kia rio diesel 56 plate need the timing belt changing or has it got a chain

The engine which is made by Mercedes is not belt driven, it has a timing chain, timing chains never need to be replaced unless they fail or the engine is being rebuilt.

My car quit running driving down the road, does a 2005 kia rio have a timing belt?

Yes it does have a timing belt but should be checked for fuel pressure and spark. How many miles are on this engine?

What is the mileage of the timing belt.

The timing belt should be changed around 100,000 miles. I hope this is what you are asking.

I need to know how to replace a timing belt for a 2005 kia rio. i lost the manual and i need to know how to time it correctly

The timing is electronic and non adjustable. If you change the belt and don't have it set up (positioned) exactly right , you will cause major engine damage.
Pistons will hit valves and bend them. Don't do your timing belt unless you are experienced at doing that job.

I wanted to know how much would it be for 2003 KIA RIO TIMING BELT

It depends on which engine you have, but it seems that the belt itself is about $30 from Rockauto.com. I would recommend getting the timing kit as well, which is an extra $70 and that includes all new pulleys which keep the belt tight. This is very important in an interference engine like yours. Which means if the timing belt snaps while the engine is running you will damage the engine and can get very expensive. The kit is cheap insurance. Also, you need the belt on top of that as it is not included in the kit. So expect to pay about $100 if you go for both.

03 kia rio-24000 km.will valves hit piston if belt breaks?

yep valves will hit piston if timing belt brake.timing belt keep your valves and piston timed.when intake valves and exhaust valve open.piston is on down stroke.the timing belt keep pistons and valves from colliding.your timing belt change is due at 60000 miles.but in some cases belt need to be inspect at 30000 miles.to be on the safe side.
