What do the codes p0072 and p0073 mean on my 2008 Dodge avenger? w

Well, I would say that it means that SOMEBODY is confused!

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0072 is defined by SAE J2012 as "Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low" DTC P0073 is defined as "Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High"

I do not know how the ambient air temperature sensor circuit could be faulted both HIGH and LOW at the same time.

The only thing I have ever seen cause something like this is when people try to install aftermarket "performance chips" on their vehicles which "lie" to the computer about what the ambient air temperature is.

Please help me how can I find the meaning of code p 1493 for

Hi Raul:

P1493 is ambient temp sensor volts low. The most likely cause for this code to set is a bad sensor or a wiring problem. I can give you testing instructions if you would like. You will need a volt meter.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

P1493 Battery Temp. Sensor, Low Voltage,Solution: have the Battery and the Alternator tested, Auto Zone and Kragen as well as others do this for free. I suspect your Alternator is the problem.
