SOURCE: heater core

Take the old one mean rubber, not plastic, right? The heater coolant hoses?
The rubber hoses are easily replaced. You just need the proper size and length. Take the old one with you to any parts store. Add a little 50-50 solution of anti-freeze to top off your coolant after you're done.
If you mean some plastic hose, you'll have to explain.

Nissan dealer claims they replaced the heater pump [not the water pump], is there such a thing as a heater pump?2005 nissan pathfinder

Yes, your Nissan Pathfinder has a heater pump. The heater pump circulates the hot coolant from your engine to your heater core(s). You have two heater cores if you have rear temperature controls. My guess is that your problem was that you had very little heat or no heat at idle. Attached is the page from the service manual on how to replace it.
